It was purchased at an antique store in Farmington, New Mexico, because of its pristine condition and I couldn't stand to see it unclaimed, even though I am in no way related. Her marriage license (4-30-1885 Danville, IL) gives her parents as Johann JAHNKE and Caroline SENGBUSCH. Maria and her husband moved to Highland Park, IL, sometime between 1885 and 1890. Maria's grandmother was Hedwig Katherine Philipine VOSS, born 9-27-1793 in Eldena, who married Christian JAHNKE, born about 1785 in Eldena. | Comments: | I was very interested in your research on the STRODE family, especially Jane STRODE who married Joseph BROWNE who I believe to be my direct ancestors. They owned lands in Street, Somerset. One Joseph BROWNE (another few generations down the line) had a daughter, Mary who married Robert WHITE. In Joseph's lengthy Will he left a considerable estate in 1832 of £5,000, some of the money and lands went to Mary and her husband and later sons, farmed Street Farm at Street.
