| Comments: | Greetings:
I've recently watched the movie, "Cadillac Records." I noticed they represented a baby girl coming into Muddy's home as his daughter. This was supposedly around 1954. I have been trying to locate my own blood family, and have reason to believe that someone in this click may know something. I was given up for adoption in July of 1955 a month before I was to turn 2 yrs old,(8/11/53) and adopted through the Cradle Agency in Evanston, Ill. who reported my mother to be a french white woman, 38 yrs old and my father to be a black musician out of Chicago a few years younger. I mysteriously received a black concert grand piano some time around 1963 to 65 from an unknown doner. I was told that someone named Walter had a "Love debt" to settle with me, when I was in my teens, by an old Psychic woman. I dreamed of my father in an intense lucid dream, where I waved his life and with a prayer, and a voice came from the heavens and said, "No matter where you are, you will always be my child." I always thought that was God assuring me of my acceptance, but lately I wonder... Although I didn't associate the dream with a memory of my biological parent then, it did stand out in my mind that my father didn't look like the adoptive father I knew. He was taller than my adoptive dad, who was only 5'2", and darker, and slim. That dream occured also in the 60's, around the same time I got the mystery piano. A couple yrs later, Someone came to Racine and offered me a record deal, as I was writing music in my early teens, (7th or 8th grade) & had a lot of material. They spoke with my parents in a long meeting, but my adoptive parents would not allow it. I am just interested to know if anyone may be able to help me to determine who my biological father may be. I know its a long shot, but to this date, I havn't been able to find any records before the adoption, and the city of Racine says they were burned. I would appreciate hearing back from you, either way. I hope and pray you may have something, some lead or information to help me to solve this issue of disconnection. Thank you for your time and thoughtful consideration. Be ever "One-d'er-full!" Sincerely, Krystan AlecSandra-Bray 571-257-7700 or 703-371-5604 PS: see my website for my pictures and some of my own original music. Music is solidly instilled in my soul! www.ormestemple.com I was mysteriously given a concert grand piano from some |

When I hear the blues I can imagine the tobacco fields, the dirt roads and the joy on my father's face while he's listening to and singing along with the old blues singers. The Christmas before my father died I bought him a blues CD collection that had many of his favorite singers including Muddy Waters. I'm content that I was able to bring a little joy into his life during his last months.
Many thanks to those responsible for movies like Cadillac Records for providing a glimpse to the world of the magnificent blues and the men that presented it to us so beautifully. |

| Comments: | I have loved the Blues and such great artist as BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughn... for many years but now I am mad at those who turned me on to the Blues. Why? Because they didn't turn me on to Muddy Waters. Damn man, your music has to be fattening or illegal because those things in life that are that good are either fattening or illegal. Nothing that good can be good for you. I am not surprised that Uncle Sam hasn't tried to put a tax on you. I went out and bought a MP3 player just to listen to your music. The thing cost me $70 and doesn't come with speakers. The last time I saw something like that was my first "transistor radio" that only had an earplug. Stereo wasn't even invented yet. Good thing I wasn't listening to you for I am sure you would have smoked that bad boy.
On a serious note, your music is way past cool. The music and words are only over shadowed by your voice. Good stuff my friend. Damn, my girl just took my MP3 player. I got to go. Thanks for delivering the Blues the way it should be. Michael C. |

this is a quote from 1964, let Muddy say it in his own words Muddy Water “ 1964 When I sing the blues, when I’m singing the real blues, I’m singing what I feel. Some people maybe want to laugh; maybe I don’t talk so good and they don’t understand you know? But when we sing the blues-when I sing the blues it comes from the heart. From right here in your soul, an ‘if you’ singing what you really feel it comes out all over. It ain’t what you saying, it pours out of you. Sweat runnin’ down your face” ” the best to you Muddy-----the boys from boston Scoop,Mouse and Al |

Considered one of the greatest bluesmen of all time, Muddy Waters was a huge inspiration for the British beat explosion in the 1960s[1] and considered by many to be one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. In 2004 Waters was ranked #17 in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. |

| Comments: | I knew what a great man Muddy Waters was but I couldn't afford to see him when he alive. I love the Blues and was finally able to see Eric Clapton along with several other blues greats at the 2007 CrossRoads concert. I've seen Buddy Guy and BB King several times but it wasn't until I saw the movie Cadillac Records that I could really come to appreciate Blues and what it meant to people like Muddy, Little Walter, and others. Muddy Waters continues to be admired but now with much more pride for what he stood for. Thank you Mudd, for your contribution to the world...

| Comments: | I JUST FINISHED WATCHING THE MOVIE ABOUT MUDDY WATERS TITLED CADILLAC RECORDS. FIRST TO ME I SEE ANOTHER STORY OF SOMEONE THAT WAS A TALENT BEYOND BELIEF-CAME FROM DARK WOODS-NOT BORN IN THE RIGHT TIME-WHICH IS? AGAIN THIS MOVIES SHOWS HIM LIVING OR EXISTING LIKE ALL OTHER MUSIC RUN DOWN DRUGGED UP RUNNING ON NOTHING OR LESS OF PIMP JUICE MUSICIANS. THE ARTISTS IN ALL THE MOVIES OVER ALL SHOW THAT YOU CANNOT HAVE A REAL HEART FREED TO BE ITSELF WITHOUT COMING FROM HELL-RESTRAINED-AND THEN GOING BACK TO HELL BECAUSE YOU HAD NOT BETTER SENSE TO KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT. YOU ALSO HAVE EVERYONE ELSE THAT CAME ALONG SIDE YA-TAKING THE RIDE WITH YA, MAYBE AS A WITHDRAWL FROM THE PAST OR AN OVERSHOT OF WHAT SO CALLED FUN AND FAME IS OUT THERE AND MOST OF ALL THERE ARE ALL KINDS OF PEOPLE THAT ARE DEFINATELY LIKE THEY SEEM TO BE. STARS OR STARS TO BE ARE JUST TOO STUPID THAT THEY ARE WITH THE SAME KIND OF SPOTS AS EVERYONE ELSE-SOMEONE COMES ALONG AND TELLS THEM HOW TO LET THEM OUT BUT EVERYONE FOR HIMSELF IN THE TERMS OF HOW TO KEEP UP WITH THEM. IT IS VERY SAD WHEN THE STARS JUST CANNOT SEE PAST THE MOONLIGHT BECAUSE EVERYONE AROUND THEM ARE JUST TOO BUSY THINKING OF ONLY THEMSELVES LIKE THEY JUST GOT KNOWN AND THEY CANNOT HANDLE THEIR OWN SPOTS. I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT CHUCK BERRIES PAST-INTERESTING. FASCINATING IS THAT MINNESOTA FATS WOULD BE LIKE ANYONE ELSE WITH INDISCRETIONS PAST HIS TABLE LIKE MUSICIANS ON THE MIKE OR THEM AMP. |

| Comments: | Just watched the movie. I grew up on Flournoy street directly across the street from Muddy Waters. as a 10 to 15 year old in the sixties I had no idea who he was. He was just this cool guy that came and went. I didn’t realize till I became a guitarist myself who this fancy suit wearing, shinny car driving, slicked back hair man was. Thanks for the sprit and the memories |

| Comments: | I watched Cadillac Records and I fell in love with it. The history of rock and roll. My dad had introduced me to Muddy Waters simply through Eric Clapton's music. It was then that I only knew of Muddy as a musician that inspired others. I had no idea what a huge roll he played in the birth of rock and roll. The day after i watched the movie, i went and bought it. A truely inspiring, amazing story/movie. A piece of history that everyone should know and hold on to. I can't believe this movie did not get more recognition for the portrayl's of America's greats. |

| Comments: | Just finished watching Cadillac Records movie. What an outstanding job of presenting the real truth behind Rock and Roll development. Muddy and his counterparts were nothing less than genius. That's always been my preference in music (listening to it on WLBZ Boston way up in Canada) and I now see it in a whole new light.......Rolling Stones 1, Beach Boys 0.
Excellent site by the way, can't wait to try out his bologna recipe (my staple diet as a kid). cheers mike |

| Comments: | Muddy Waters was before my time, a long time before I was born. But when I was a teen my brothers would play his music and I immediately fell for it. I like a lot of the music today, but, knowing this is where all the blues and rock n roll started makes me proud to have listened to blues and rock n roll from the 40's and 50's to today.
Muddy Waters was an amazing singer and very good performer. I always favored the throwbacks if you will, to this music today. The music back then, had meaning, compassion, passion whereas this music today is nothing like that. All it talks about is sex, money, drugs, and murder. I recommend to anyone if you've never heard of Muddy Waters, Little Walter and the rest of them from Chess Records, you should. You will then know how Rock N' Roll and the Blues got started and who started it. |

| Comments: | The movie "Cadillac Records" made me go back through to my childhood and reminiscing listening to a radio station KDKO, the "Dr.Daddyo Show". He played the blues. I remember "Oochie Coochi Man". I was too young to appreciate real music. My parents told us then, the music what we were listening to was originally from greats such as Muddy Waters. God I appreciate Muddy that much more. Thanks Mick for reconizing good music and talent. |

| Comments: | I sure do miss those nights in the Colonial Tavern in Toronto. Muddy used to light up the place every time and was always kind enough to play a request or two. He sang a song for us on our first wedding anniversary and introduced it with a joke (married for a year and they still haven't gone out for groceries). The place cracked up! Even in the subdued lighting, my wife's blush was visible. Good times. Sure do miss you, Mud. |

| Comments: | Thanks for the wonderful music and this website. I met Muddy one night at Teddy's in Milwaukee. Muddy graciously took the time to speak with me. It was a moment I will treasure for ever. I remember that Muddy had a handshake
that felt more like a boxer, than a guitar player. And he had more of a "paw" than a hand. (Not that he was handicapped don't get me wrong). It was not the typical handshake you would expect from a guitar player... more evident of a guy had done some real physical labor in his day. I had the Blues in me, it just didn't come out yet. Muddy told me to practice and listen to everything. I treasure all the Muddy Waters albums I have. I can't pick out a favorite, I like them all. Later in life I did become..."another white-boy playin' the blues." I never lived the hard life that Muddy and his contemporaries did. It's these experiences that will always differentiate us...but the love of Blues music and the joy of playing it unites us...under a spirit of joy. I think that Blues makes me a more humble kinder human, than I was before. Muddy's contribution is truly immeasurable. I am glad to have met him and know him a little bit through his music. Peace and best wishes to all... Mark Sugarman aka: "Shuggy" ... Blues Fan & Drummer" |

I do appreciate the young talent featured in the movie so much so I purchased the soundtrack. I also plan to purchase etta/muddy orig recordings as well. The only comment I want to make is why they did not get nominated for Oscars ? Most of the actors sang the songs themselves what great acomplishments, you all should be very proud ! I had only wished Beyonce and Etta sang At last together for Mr Prez to unify us as a people who have always been divided but always let music keep us together ! God Bless everyone and continue to excel and give the younger generation something to look forward to besides drugs/murder/mayhem...! |

I especially liked the portrayal of Muddy Waters. I have not had a great deal of exposure to Blues music; however, I am getting more exposure through volunteering at our annual "Jazz and Blues Festival" here in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. I am looking forward to listening to a lot more of Muddy's music. With kind regards, Paul Kelley |
