I never thought I had a maternal bone in my body until I met this wonderful fluff ball! I am so interested in the rescue effort. I've volunteered to transport (which I've done once), to conduct home visits, to foster, etc.. but I never hear back from anyone. I know that all of the rescue groups are just volunteers and don't necessarily have much time, but I would be a great volunteer, if someone would just let me know what they need done. What a wonderful thing you are doing. I wish you strength of heart and love. I know rescue takes a lot of love, work, time, and patience (I used to do it). It is so heartbreaking to think how many little guys are out there that need rescuing, but one by one you take them off the street, clean them up, and place them in a home where they can know/learn true love. I still see his eyes as my husband was taking him to the drs. To be put to sleep. I think he knew what was happening and we kissed lots before I could let him go. I still miss him.
Our second Maltese was Joshua. He was stolen from us at the age of three. He is sorely misses. I still worry about him. |

I have hatred in my heart for all pet stores who sell puppies that come from puppy mills and produce these puppies only to bring heartache to buyers who do not know any better. I am in the process right now of trying to put one of these stores out of business. I am one who purchased from them. I was not aware of puppy mills until after I purchased two puppies from them. The first with a hole in it's heart which I was advised by my vet to return to the pet store after two weeks of loving him and my beautiful little Sashia who will be operated on this week at the New York Animal Hospital in Manhattan. I had a beautiful little Westie and I was blessed for the thirteen years God gave her to me. I lost her this September and I didn't want to live. Out of dispair my daughter in laws took me to a local pet shop and I have had nothing but worries since then. I may lose my little Maltese. I love her so much and my husband and my son are putting all their money which we do not have alot of towards all of her medical bills. I cannot afford to adopt at this time but I will fill out an application hoping that by the time a puppy is available for me to adopt I will be able to afford the adoption fees. I can give a puppy a good home and love it like it was one of my own children. I have done this in the past and am doing this right now. |
