| Comments: | I'm a descendant of the slaves Jeremiah Stark brought from Culpeper, Virginia around 1808 to what became Allen County, Kentucky in 1815. I was born about 4 miles from his plantation home and have visited Bethel Baptist Church at Gainesville, Allen County he had his slaves build in 1814. My great great grandmother was born there in 1810. My grandmother was sired by Bert or Albert Stark there in 1877 and visited her "cousins" when I was a child tagging along with her. I have a picture of the old plantation home of Jeremiah Stark who might have also been called Daniel. |

I've really enjoyed reading your genealogical website. The hard work and scholarship that went into this site must remain for generations. I am the decendant of Stark's slaves in Allen, Ky (Catlet Stark). Finding your site has really expanded my understanding of human relations. My great, great, great grandfather was Moses Stark (his wife was Virgina Stark); gg grandfather was Jesse Stark (his wife Grace). Jesse fought in the Kentucky 115th Colored Infantry during the Civil War. (Many of us added the "s" to our last names after slavery.) Great Job Nadine! Sam Starks |
