| Comments: | I really enjoyed looking at your page, and I found some very intresting links. I don't know many with the last name Zetterberg except for my own family, so it was great to find someone else with the same name. I've always wanted to learn more about my ancestors, but so far I haven't gotten around to do it. The only thing I >think< I know so far is that the Zetterberg's in my family once emigrated from Belgium to Sweden. I believe that was around 1810. Could have been earlier too.

Zetterberg, (I think). I have a memento poem, aunt Etta sent to my sister Maybelle. I only remember meeting Earnest Boardman (Uncle Capp) when I was about 4 years old, shortly before he died in 1924. Also heard the story about Albert (Uncle Bert). I am now 85 and have lived alone since my wife Faye died in 1999. KWill be glad to answer any questions. EDIT: Mr. Boardman mailed me a package of information regarding his branch of the family, including some photos and memorabilia. | Comments: | Hi Julie, You are the first Zetterberg beside my children that I have corresponded with. I did meet a Zetterberg, a commercial airline pilot on a flight from Worcester to NYC 15 years ago. I believe he lived near Philadelphia. I am originally from Worcester Ma. Born in 1937-- the only son of Leslie who also was an only child, and Hildur (Petterson). My grandfather, Earnest (SP) Ludwig Zetterberg left Sweden, Gotenborg I believe as a cabin boy on a sailing ship. He eventually reached the US and settled in Worcester. I know my grandfather had a sister, Hilma, who resided in Concord, NH.
I believe other relatives settled on Long Island and in the Chicago area. I had three Zetterberg children. Jon, the oldest, lives in Knoxville and he has 5 Z's; Christian (Chris) lives in Charlotte and has one son and my daughter, Robin Zetterberg Salley is married and lives in Atlanta. I do know my oldest son picked up a Saab in Sweden and said a look in the telephone directory showed quite a few Zetterbergs'. I contacted yu several years ago about seeing if our lines connected and at that time neither of us could confirm they did. I have no new information that could connect us, but I do have some new information on my line that I didn't have then. Nelson (Nels or Nils) Setterberg was born in Sweden (possibly near Stokholm) on 2 Aug of 1849. He came to the United States 24 May 1872. He was married to a woman named Elizabeth Knarr (Knerr) in Greensburg, Indiana 6 Feb, 1877. He was naturilized in 1918. His parents were Nelson Sr. and Christine last name unknown. It is asumed they stayed in Sweden but they might have come to the United States also. No information about that. I have been doing family tree research since i was a seventh grader doing a school project about our family and I have been trying since then to make the connection about how my family came to America. If anyone has any information about Nelson Zetterberg I would love to find out what ship he came over on and where he was raised.
