That was Shane's thing...he loved Vic and Vic loved him, but Shane had an in-built abiltiy to fuck up and piss Vic off. Vic always compensated for Shane's weakenesses out of loyalty and deep affection but it could not go on forever. Both players were superb and develped complex characters untied in their moral ambiguity....superb...Walt reminds me of Warren Oates a hell of a lot, another great Southern actor, and should enjoy a similar career in films, if there is any justice.... |

| Comment: | I'm surprised at how difficult it's been to find a site dedicated to Walton Goggins!
I'm a member over at The Shield Rap, and a fan of each member of the cast, and the writers, and everyone who contributes to having made and continuing to make The Shield some of the most intelligent yet primal television I've ever experienced.
But then, we're here to talk about Walton, right? There are so many things I'd like to say, things that have been said many times before by many different people, here and elsewhere, and sometimes I wonder whether or not all the accolades from fans begin to just wash over a person after a while, blend together and cease to have much meaning. I know it's probably a delicate balance to strike when you're an actor; If you care too much about the accolades, you'll care too much about detraction, and that can wreak havoc with your self-confidence. So you try to take things in stride, keep an even keel . . .
I guess it doesn't really matter, because it won't stop me from saying that the fact that Walton Goggins hasn't won an Emmy yet confirms the total dissilusion of my trust in the people who vote on the awards. So, for what it's worth, I'm casting my words out into the ether, just because I can. Mr. Goggins, it's hard to qualify why we out here love and admire the work of people like you. I think it's because you show us the most intimate aspects of what it is to be human, the potential and the pitfalls, and break through the shell of ordinary daily existence, taking us to places we may not know how to describe or reach on our own, through art. I don't know why that's so important to human beings, but it is. I thank you for the places you've taken me. I look forward to the places you'll take me in the future. You have a fan for life. |

| Comment: | Hello, I am a stay at home mom of a busy busy busy 3 year old boy. I recently (last year) became addicted to the Shield. I am returning to college (University of Maryland) via the internet and hope to complete my degree in English in less than a year (Yeah - finally). I have written a few screenplays which either weren't good enough or got in the hands of the wrong??(if any) agents. I don't have connections in Hollywood but I know one thing - that I can write. I may also try freelance writing. Anyway, I'm babbling. The Shield is the only show really worth not missing so that's my Tuesday night thing! The rest of the time is devoted to my son, my husband and homework!! Thanks for this site, lots of interesting tidbits about Walton that I didn't know.
