I've always being intrigued by the name Neneh Cherry. Care to say more about it. I came to the US in 1988 and in the early 90's as I was strolling in the Georgetown area of DC I heard the british accent laden intro to Buffalo Stance so I inquired and got the name of the artist but the combinatiion of the accent and the name has hunted me for a while. Then came the duet with Youssou N'dour. Am I right in thinking Franco-African descent.

Just want to say that i have adored you since Day 1!!

I teach ESL in Brazil, and one of the things students love is to learn lyrics to English songs. I introduced them to "Move With Me"... but the last 4 lines i am not 100% convinced that i have correct.

nice to read about neneh today, these days im typicaly more into her father"s work, but a couple of her tracks popped into my head this a.m, and i dug out her cds, still sounds fresh, good to see shes still busy and into music. since her releases are so few and far between, hopefully a solo cd will eventually come, i think her voice would suit a nice acoustic guitar , neneh always hits the right mood, not over - sentimental , but catchy still, serious, but not depressing, - like kate bush, after so long, without any music, her recent cd ariel, it would help to re evaluate how much of a contribution she has made to music.

I, being a musician myself, very much appreciate the emotion that Neneh Cherry has when she sings. I feel there is a great need for emotion in todays world. Everyone who I share my Neneh Cherry music with here never even has heard of her but they always tell me that they like it. Its a great loss to me that I may never ever get to see her in concert. Her music can actually make me cry because she sings so well. In this day and age, she should be remembered as one of the most talented and gifted singers and a huge contributer to humanity itself with her attention to current issues and problems. I am in love with her no doubt forever.

"Manchild" was the first rap tune I ever liked because I associated it with the most beautiful girl in my schoolclass, she loved Run DMC, and looked a bit similar to neneh, while otherwise I used to listen to guitar noise mainly, rap and metal people used to hate each other.

I'm a big fan of music, and I follow a lot of artists, and have even met some big names in the business (Madonna!). but the one person that i still dream of meeting is NENEH CHERRY!! I am 21 and I'm a huge Neneh fan. I think she really represents a strong,independent,leftfield spirit to me and should return in these troubled times to give us a breath of human fresh air. The start of `woman` makes the hairs on my arms stand up and `Buddy X` is just so cool. I admire how she followed her own creative path and didn't put out the shit record a year thing like Madonna. There again Neneh was never in it for the money. She's a true artist who is also accessible since her lyrics ring a bell with everyone. I hope she returns one day, she's truely talented and never been big headed. Can't wait to see what she surprises us with next! it always is different and from the heart.
