county, ohio. however, they lived in milton township and the history of richland county tells me that later milton became part of ashland county. i also find that there were LOTS of myers' living there in the 1840's. ohio in general (and each county in particular) has done a really good job of record-keeping and it really helps. thank you to all the volunteers. |

She was a dancer and taught classes to the children while still in school. I still have some of the recital programs. My uncle, Doug Schweyer graduated in 1958. Dixie Rae (Sarkel) Bennett, still from Ashland, was my "big sister" - My grandparents and her parents were very close friends. The best part of the site was seeing the headstones of my grandparents - Harmon & Lillian Schweyer. Thanks again - for bringing back such wonderful memories. |

William was mentioned as a resident of Vermillion township in 1814 when George Eckley returned from Jefferson County after the war. Samuel's youngest son, Reuben perished in the Sultana explosion, while enroute home. I am interested in any pictures of any of Samuel's family, expecially Reuben. Thank you in advance for any help with this subject. |

| Comments: | Interest lies in any history or background on Amos Homan and his wife Ellen Homan. Amos was born in PA in 1836 but moved to Greene Twshp. (Perrysville) sometime after the Civil War. He (a veteran of that war) is buried in the Union Cemetary in Perrysville. He and his wife lived in Cleveland, OH for a time but both chose to be buried back in Perrysville. They were the parents a a large family --my father-in-law, Fred Homan was their youngest child. Few records exist in PA. as to his birth. Trying to establish his parentage--would it show up on any records in Ashland County? Any help appreciated. Marie Homan |

| Comments: | I am the great grandaughter of Ellen Isabelle Jarvis who was born in Hayesville, OH, approx. 1858. She married Charles Jarvis who died approx. 1894 at the age of 38.
She later married Alfred Hine. She had two daughters, Maude Alice Jarvis and Effie Jarvis. I would love to find out what my great grandmother's maiden name was. Per a census record, her father was born in Ireland and her mother was born in Pennsylvania. |

If anyone has any info on the names Hamilton, Thomas, Franks or Mansfield in the time of 1850 to 1980 I would appreciate it. I was related to Harry Hamilton who was well known for his popcorn and root beer stand. I know that there were some articles in the Times Gazette about him. I've lost track of what happened to him.
