I am trying to locate info on my grandparents, Mr and Mrs Joseph Houseman that lived on Clairmont Ave around 1900-115 or so. He once ran for mayor and was a prominent business man but I understand there were finanical problems in his grain business. My mother, his daughter, passed away last Sunday at the age of 105 and was a well know musician as a child in Ashland born in 1903. I went to Ashland coilleger for about a year and half while workign fulltime at Faultless about 1969. |

A very nice web site. I am very interested in the WHISLER family of HANOVER TOWNSHIP, LOUDONVILLE and DANVILLE KNOX COUNTY AND the many families they married into including the ALLARDING, PETERS and HOMAN. The Whislers bought their farm lands from the Wooster Land Patent Office in 1839. They are buried in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery just north of Loudonville. My roots are in Hanover Township, Loudonville Ohio. After visiting the well kept, St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery north of the city, I was pleasantly surprised to see the tombstones of my first known great great grandfather and mother along with other members of the Whisler family in the cemetery. The family originally came from Belgium (formerly Germany)province of Luxembbourg. They bought their farm acreage in Hanover Township in 1839 from the Wooster Land Patent Office. The Whislers married into the Allarding, Woman and Peters families among many in the area. I am very interested in putting the families into a genealogy. |

Around 1910, she married my grandfather, Herbert E. Smalley. They had 5 children, Dorothy, Gladys, George (my father). Edgar and Mary Jane. She died in 1940 and my grandfather died in 1959. My aunt Mary Jane died in 1944. All three are buried in Ashland Cemetery.

I am researching the Adam & Frances TENER (also seen as TENOR) family who settled in Perry Twp around 1818 +/-2yrs (but prior to the 1820 Census). Adam & Frances first moved from Baltimore Co, MD to Jefferson Co, OH around 1812 then moved to Perry Twp (formerly in Wayne County, but now in Ashland County).
