| Comments: | I am looking for information on my paternal grandmother. Her name was Vinnie Marie Lowry. She was born around 1891. I think she was born in Ashland. Around 1910, she married my grandfather, Herbert E. Smalley. They had 5 children, Dorothy, Gladys, George (my father). Edgar and Mary Jane. She died in 1940 and my grandfather died in 1959. My aunt Mary Jane died in 1944. All three are buried in Ashland Cemetery.
I am trying to find out the names of my grandmother's father and mother. I would appreciate any information. Thank you. |

The SLOANE family entered Ohio from Pennsylvania and settled in Jefferson County. Unfortunately, I am now totally disabled and can't travel much anymore. I graduated in 1977 from Ashland High School, and I have two children and thre grandchildren. My youngest, Chelsey Tucker Burgess, is a Sgt. in the Co. Army National Guard 220th MP Batallion in Denver, CO. I found a 'Gera Bushnell' in the 1870 Census in Ashland city; is she the woman I'm looking for and exactly what was her first name? Daniel was the son of David & Susanna (Holtz) Smith. Daniel's sister, Margaret, was the wife of Robert Carson Kinnaman.
