Comments:I like your car, Very clean and well put together. I have a 1991 civic si hatch that has the Euro ZC motor. 11.5:1 compression factory. 145 horse and 135lbs or torque. I will be soon swaping out for a built ls on 35lbs of boost so I am hoping that it will put down some numbers.

I was wondering what you have for internals and also how many lbs of boost your running. have you raced it? and do you have any slips.

Thanks for the info

Comments:I just did a zc on a 91 civic dx auto. I put a 1.5 sohc vtec Jdm with a 91 crx si intake. The problem I'm having is that I can't get the car to at idle low rpm ( it will idle but when you give gas it pops and sputters and wants to die). At idle it's good but from 1000 to about 2800 it's total gargage sputters and pops bably and want to die. but at 3000 it's a dream (runs like a bat out of hell). I have tryed everything and can not get this straight is there any one out there that can tell me how to fix this problem

I built the head with swirl polished valves, port & polished it and shaved it down so that I am running 10-1 compression. The bottom was bulit with pistons and rods. I am having only one problem with it right now and thats the fuel pump. I ordered a walbro and I am waiting for it to come in. I like the way ur car is set up.

Comments:i have a 88 crx dx, which i swapped out for a obd0 ls b18a. the ls was alright then i went out and bought some civic type R pistons which where oversized, so i had to get my piston chamber bore'd. after all that. i installed went online bout a dnh power package which was a stock b18a intake manifold but was bore'd out and it came with a 70mm throttle body. i installed those on the motor and then i cam across some camshafts that my friends had so i paid him 300 for them..they were used for like 3 months.. but it was still good...i got everything together and slapped on a msd ignition system and some nology plugs and got a Spoon Sports headgasket from modacar.com and now my car was done. so i took it to go get dynoed and it came out 290whp...not to say that the compression is only 12:1 and i have to use 91 octane gas wit octane booster everytime...

I have rebuilt a new ZC motor & am putting it in a 91 Civic SI HB.

any idea what electronics make the fuel injectors work ?
and how I can test ?

I replaced the distributor- brand new- good spark now.

Motor will run with ether sprayed into air cleaner, but not getting any fuel thru injectors.
(ether going in thru intake valves keeps it running.)

Plugs are dry... no fuel...
but, I have plenty of fuel volume & pressure in fuel rail. PLENTY.

And I have electric signal at injector. Solid- not pulsing. Using test light.

I tried putting the old SI injectors in (which worked on car before)- no difference.
They are not plugged up....

also tried 2 ECU's- original (PM6 from SI ) & a used PM7 that I bought- supposed to work
better with the ZC motor.

stumped again- think it is in the electrical modifications..... any ideas ?? Many thanks !

Comments:I just swapped my 1991 dx engine with a 1990 zc, at first it would not idle so i changed my (TPS) sensor after it idled it would surge at 3000 RPM. I shut it off and it would not start after. Then i changed the cap & rotor and fuel filter, now it won't turn over. I can't figure out what the problem is, i need some help.

Comments:I have had a ZC swapped in my 90 CRX for about year now. It has AEM cold air, 4-2-1-headers and a cat back thermal exhaust. Nothing was done cheaply, I tracked down the proper ECU aswell. It is very slow until 5500 RPM and will backfire coming back down through the lower RPM. It is slow off the start and I have done everything I can think of other than having the timing replaced fully. Any ideas on what I can do???? If you do that would be greatly appreciated. Kent
