I could not believe my eyes when looking at your site I came across the name Tiny Tim of Andana. I used to be a kennel maid at the Andana kennels some 25 yrs ago! The kennels and Mrs A are long since gone now so it was a real blast from the past! I remember the name Tiny Tim but can not for the life of me remember who the dam and sire are. It has now inspired me to do some research. If any one has any details I would be really grateful. I had the unforgettable pleasure to meet you for the first time staying at David & Merrin's, Belcroft Kennels, Victoria, for the first cocker spaniel national back in the early 1980's. I remember we sat up, until the wee small hours talking dogs, around dinning table. Then we had to show the next day. As I had just started showing the breed, this valuable chat stayed with me for the last 25 yrs. | Comments: | Hi Mac, I signed your dreambook in June 2005 and told you about my two beautiful cockers that I bought from you in February, 1993. They were born on 22nd December, 1992 to your gold cocker nicknamed "Merry" who was about 9years old then. Unfortunately my boy, Elliott, who looked just like his "dad" - a gold and white dog with gold "freckles" on his nose - he had a small stroke, we think, early this year, but is still going strong, sort of, I've been struggling with whether or not I should have him put to sleep. BUT I came home on Tuesday, 23/10/07, and found that my beautiful little girl Kelsey had had a major stroke and I had to take her to the vet who put her to sleep. I am so devastated as although they are 14 years and 10 months they are/were so healthy - except for Elliott's arthritis. Kelsey was even jumping up to get her little toast ends on Tuesday morning. I was so shocked as I was preparing for my boy's death and thought I would have her for a little while longer....
I was wondering if you will have any puppies ready for Christmas or earlier even? As I am a teacher I will need the school holidays to train my pup. Elliott and Kelsey have been such beautiful, placid dogs i am hoping that I can get another pup from their same pedigree line. You did not register these pups but you did hand write out their pedigree and there were a lot of your Brightleaf beauties in that eg Brightleaf Bewinged and Bedazzled I do remember were on the pedigree. I do hope you can help me with another pup as I miss my beautiful girl terribly, and it has only been 3 days! Thankyou, Robyn. |

I was trying to find a cockerspaniel breeder in Smithfield who sold us our beloved 'Morgan' the golden who passed away 4 years ago He was eight when he passed away of Leukemia We bought a new boy 'Byron' the beautiful Bought from a breeder in Riverwood We have had him 3years & two weeks ago he stopped eating Was at St. George animal hospital on a drip with failed kidneys & also diagnosed with leukemia !!Byron died last Friday !! Our female orange roan 'Amelia' is 10 yrs old & has now lost two life parteners !! How lucky are we ! I have a feeling that there is a connection with maybe Morgan & Byron being related !!Byron was all black with a white star on his chest ! He had the most lovable nature & such an amazing temprament ! We went down to Cronulla beach where he was walked by my daughter & let three balloons fly high for each year of his short wonderful life Can't look at having another at the moment but when we do can I come see you ! I think it might be best out of the local area of Sydney !

They are still going strong. Elliott has some stiffness in his back and Kelsey has gone deaf I think or is just being willful! That pup looked exactly identical to the beautiful boy that we have just lost to cancer at 14 years of age. He looked exactly the same as a pup. I am interested in cockers as I think they have a great personality and are a good size dog to look after and have in the house. I have 4 children, ranging in age from 13 to 3 and think a cocker spaniel would be a good breed for children (???) I have always had big dogs, but I think cockers are a good medium size dog - easy to handle, bath, groom, etc. You certainly have lived a full (and I hope fulfilling) 80 years. |

I am 55 now and as a kid I grew up with a succession of beautiful Cockers but they all sadly ran away. Just over seven years ago we purchased a beautiful male Golden Cocker (our first family pet) pup who enriched our lives until we had to put him down in March this year. He was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy at 5 years and was given 3 to 6 months to live. With great care we were blessed to have him for 2 years more. We still miss him and always will, but are looking forward to our next Cocker Spaniel. We may consider a rescued male but our preferrance would be a new pup but this would not be until next year. As we are out of touch with prices would you be able to give us an idea of the price range we would be looking at for a Golden male pup of happy disposition for a pet. Alternatively what price for a rescued Cocker. We live in Newcastle and would like the opportunity to visit some Cocker shows and would appreciate your advice as to when such events are on. Although we have been Cocker lovers for many years, I have waited for my retirement before entering the specialised world of shows and breeding and my experience of this only amounts to two years. However two years of great interest and learning. Our first show bitch, Cabal Am I Blue (Skye, a blue roan, has won our hearts absolutely. She has had some very good wins in NSW when a young pup (then owned by her breeder) and a couple of good ones up here in Queensland with us. I have found it hard to "break in" to the Cocker world but hope to make my way soon by breeding carefully and continually refining my handling and grooming techniques in order to do these wonderful animals justice. Certainly I have learned about Brightleaf, but I have only now visited your site and to be honest am in awe of the achievements you have made for the breed in our country. Also it's so lovely to see photographs of some of your past great ones as well as some of the more recent, and to see dogs with such wonderful robust type, and the gentle demeanour we look for in this wonderful breed. What a wonderful surprise to come across your site on the Web and see so many cockers from the same lines as my own two girls - now sadly passed on. I'm sure you can believe that I could see their faces in photos on your site and that made me take a closer look at their pedigrees. Sure enough, SH CH Bitcon Blue Model was GG Dam of my first span, Valleydene Venus (Freckles to her friends). The rest of the line back from that you have in your own lines. Her grandsire was CH Bitcon Midnight Ranger, imported into South Africa where he did very well. He was also grandsire to my other girl, Poldhu Laurelin (Chelsea when she was at home). I have since immigrated to the UK. I'm living in Newcastle in County Down, Northern Ireland. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to keep a dog at the moment - rented house, paranoid owner - but that'll change - all things do - and first on the list is another cocker. I would like to have the same line as both Freckles and Chelsea were dear friends with temperaments that would be hard to match. So, you can imagine my joy when I saw their extended family on the net. Would you have any idea of the addresses (e- mail/snailmail)/phone numbers of any of these kennels (if they're still up and running: Bitcon; Ronfil; Dervely; Craiglelith; Hightrees and Jocund?
