| COMMENTS: | I think I am related to your family as my greatgrandparents were The conclusions arrived at by Niels Glimsholt are that both of our great grandparents were Jens Christian Peter Christiansen and Karen Martine (nee Jensen).
Their son, the brother of my Bestemor who went to USA from Denmark was Christian Christiansen (Glimsholt) who was born in Ugiltvad, Ugilt sogn, Vennebjerg Herred on the 29th December 1883 (Ugilt is about 5 km distance from Glimsholt, both north of Taars). Finding authentic and traceable surnames for my ancestors has been of great assistance to me because my Bestemor had so many variations of her name in the United States and Denmark. There has been considerable inconsistency in family records but with her marriage to Carl Nielsen the family became known as Nielsen however but both sons, Edward and William, decided to adopt the surname of Glimsholt rather than be known as the more common Nielsen. |
