| Comments: | Well, it’s the 6th day of Ramadan, I’m in the sandbox and the hotel bar is closed. What is a hasher to do? Think about the good old days with OBH3, of course. I just came to the sandbox from Osan last week. I was there for 3 weeks and I managed to scrape together one hash. Luckily there were two OBH3 hashers from days gone by, Famous Anus and Ether Bunny, who I happened to run into in the “hash bar”, The Lions Den, who were in Osan on TDY. Apparently OBH3 is “dead”, so I was told, but that didn’t stop us from putting together a hash. We three showed up at the ON-ON. Just us three. When we were getting ready for chalk talk, I got a phone call from the GM of Humphreys Hangover H3, Dr. Phil-latio, who was on her way to Osan with 2 other H5 hashers, Dances with Balls and Lucky Pierre (What the ???). They showed up in the pouring rain and the hash was on. No T-shirts, no screamers, even though we had a virgin (“virgin, we don’t want no virgins, we want whores…”). I was the hare and I took the pack on my favorite trail behind the former Chicken Head (“Head? Who said head?). The former Foul Cranium is now Happy Jacks restaurant. I ate there once but I couldn’t sit down on any of the tables, yes, the same tables, because I saw something disgusting on every table when it was the Foul Cranium. I just cant eat on them now. Anyways, the hash was on and I took them behind the former Cranium, but because it was raining, I didn’t send them up that ladder, if any of you remember that. No BFD’s (Big F*ckin’ Dog). It wasn’t a long run because Famous Anus had a meeting, so I took them back through the ville and back to Lions Den. The Down-Down began. Famous Anus was the RA. We didn’t go with a GM. No free shit, no horny horn, no dock smock, no FRB,DFL,FZB,FWB hats, no shoe sheriff, no head giver…wait, Lucky Pierre was the honorary head giver. But despite the lack of OBH3 traditions, many beverages were consumed, songs were sang and fun was had by all. We were able to throw in one OBH3 tradition…Hash Sh*t. Lucky Pierre got that. And so came the last thing….”Swing Low…..”. May the hash go in piece, may the hash get a piece. And the hash was over. After the hash the H5 hashers stuck around the Den for a while but left. Famous, Ether (he was even wearing his old “IYAAHYAS” shirt. Remember those?) and I sat and reflected on the good old days of OBH3. Many good stories were told. Its funny, call it old age, but I cant remember what I did yesterday, but I can remember almost every hash I ever went on with OBH3 (well over 100, close to 200 but who’s counting anymore?). Yes, Im a “God”, but it doesn’t mean anything because I never made Booze Hound, let alone Galactically Stupid. I tried probably around 20 times but just couldn’t get that last drop down. Anyways, we talked about when OBH3 was “the Hash” in Korea. When I started hashing with OBH3 in ’93-94, there were 100-200 hashers. We would meet in front of the Phoenix Hotel outside the front gate. My sponsor was Doink the Clown. I was in the R-ME at Camp Humphreys and about 10 of us would cram ourselves into a black van (later painted yellow…yes, the hash van in 1999-2000), and drive to Osan listening to Jimmy Buffet and prelubing. There was Bambie Killer, Doink, Squeals Like a Pig, Pillsbury Blowboy to name a few. The hash back then was fun but there were just too many hashers. We even had a mentally handicapped Korean kid that used to run with us (I saw him about two years ago in Songtan while haring through the ville. Of course he was grown up now but it was him. I was in a hurry but he started running behind me. He was muttering probably the only English words he knew, maybe even the only words in Korean too…”ON-ON”. I ran a little more and looked back and he was gone. That was the last I saw of him.) and Good N’ Tight, our German contingent. After a long stateside assignment and 4 years of college, I returned as a civilian to Osan in 1999. My first run back I was on run 45. They still had the books with my name in it! I got free shit my first day back. It was the camel back. I still have it. I still have all my free shit. The hash in 1999 was smaller, but there were still about 40-50 hashers. The GM and RA were Toy Story and Infinity (To infinity and beyond!). We even had hash kids, Gaseous Clay and Baby Spice. They knew more versus of S&M Man than anybody I ever met. There was Ogre, MAT, CLAUS, Troll, ELF, DWARF, RAW, PIMP, David Cop-A-Feel, Flaming Sphincter, Flaming Discharge, Flaming Doctor Pecker (not really but I tried to give away that name), Chariots of Fire, I3, Church Mouse, Canadian Bacon, Cunning linguist, Glad-he-ate-her, Plato (RIP) to name a few. To me, those were the best days of OBH3. But over the years the hashers kept coming to Osan… RAWHIDE MY BRUTHA!, I.P. Freely, Butterhead, BIG ‘UNS, Pop-A-Smurf, Big M-organ, Peter Meter, yes, even SPAWN, Pink, Tops, Martha, Dead Ant, Curdled Cunt, Cum Guzzlin’ Salad Tossing Prison Bitch (We got rid of that one finally), Pendulum & Dirk, Bowling Ball, BAAAD Boy, Ate Ball (saw the video my friend), Bonecrusher, Empty cockpit (ahhhhh), Forgive me Father, Irish Spew, Spew Suede Shoes, BUBA-J (Beat Up By A Juicy), 3 ½ inch floppy, No hard drive, Chuckalumpagus, TWAT, Poke-Me-Mon, Here Kitty, Eddie Eagle (stop! Don’t touch! Leave the area! Call an adult!), DINGO, Taint Tickler, Fat Bastard (Who ate all the pies…?), Nude Will Cunting, Monkey Bars, Donkey Punch (yes, we finally got rid of that one too, Cop-a-feel), Pierce Schlongson (naked time!), Down-Down Syndrome, Raspberry Beret, A.S.S., Toga Master (TOGA TOGA!), Squeaky, Dr. Queaf, Medicine Woman, Just Fred, Postage Stamp, Dog Tag, Low Pro, Foghorn Schmegma Horn, Woody wouldn’t Pecker, Dude Where’s my Bus, Lions-Tigers and Cock, BMF (BOO!), SpongeBob Wetpants, Boston Bob, Yellow Beaver Fever, Cat woman (what was her hash name?), and so many faces that I cant put hash names to. I remember the hashes too. I remember the hash where all the runners, including the hares, Rawhide and Martha, got lost. Rawhide and I hitched a ride on a church bus to the Down-down. All the runners got hash shit and Rawhide got snared. I remember them all. Maybe when Im older and have time, I can write a book on it. I will change the names to protect the guilty, of course. Anyways, Ill be going back to Osan in November-December. 5 weeks. Im planning on hashing. OBH3 will never be dead. There too much history. |

| Comments: | Found your site to be fun. I was in Korea back in 1990 when I was only 19 years old. A young airman. I do remember the hashers though. Now that I am 35, and I look back, I remember a bunch of guys drinking, running, and having a good time. Strangely, I always felt outta place, and I stopped after a few runs. I guess all those young officers had a sense of humor I didn't quite get. It seemed to me to be a good place to angle for a promotion, because the base commander always had about 10 young captains and the occasional Lt Col near him when he ran. College sweatshirts seemed to be the official dress code. A discreet way of telling the world "I'm an officer." Hope all is well with you guys, and I admire what your doing for the country.
