I had the opportunity and pleasure of meeting Frank personally during a "Blues Pilgrimmage" I made to the Mississippi Delta in August of 1991. One of the first stops I made en route was to Bubba Sullivan's Record & Antique store in Helena, AR. While thumbing through his massive collection of LP albums, Bubba asked me if I was looking for a particular artist of album. In response, I indicated to Bubba that I'd just seen the movie "Crossroads" starring Ralph Macchio, and asked if he could recommend an album by Frank Frost. After purchasing the title "Midnight Rambler," Bubba asked me if I would like to have the album personally autographed by Frank. Excitedly I said "you bet," and Bubba directed me to "Eddie's Diner" on Missouri Street a block south of his store. Bubba told me I'd find Frank cooking barbeque on the sidewalk outside the diner. Sure enough, Frank was right where Bubba said he would be, and I introduced myself and explained why I had stopped to visit with him. I found Frank a genuinely nice, gracious and hospitable individual, and he seemed very complimented by the fact that I asked him to autograph my album. He and I spoke for a good ten minutes, and although I most likely asked him the same questions that had been asked of him by many before me, he answered freely and didn't seem in the slightest bit annoyed. To the contrary, he seemed genuinely thrilled by all the attention he was getting ever since the movie "Crossroads" was released.

In addition to signing my album, Frank allowed me to take a few photographs of him outside Eddie's Diner. For the privilege, I left him a $50.00 bill. At first he resisted accepting it, but I insisted. He was by no means leaving a life of luxury, and it was the least I could do for him - especially being a genuine "Bluesman." Undoubtedly, meeting and visiting with Frank was the highlight of my trip.
