Well Rory's gone to heaven to sing the blues........
Hope there is is music there Rory, if there is you will be with the best of them. I had the pleasure to witness your brilliance 3 times live here in Ireland........ As the crow flies, your a million miles away, your no sinner boy - just the the boss 'That the Devil made you do it' and that you were 'Jinxed' from the start. Your music is alive and well Rory, as are my thoughts and memories of the softly spoken gentleman who was a real guitar legend. Forget U2, Thin Lizzy and the likes - you were the originator of Irish Rock. God Bless you Rory. El Rojo.

I was at one of his concerts in 1977 or 1978 in Frankfurt/Germany. It was a great concert. Gallagher was a lively and untiring performer - I distinctly remember his blue and white plaid shirt which was flying along with him as he jumped from one side of the stage to the other. The concert was sold out and everybody was "roryng" with him. We knew all of his songs by heart. On the dark side, however, I recall that he drank alot of beer during that night (but never appeared drunk). He was so handsome - great hair ;) - and talented. Later the alcohol took its apparent toll on him and his voice, too, which was already noticeable during the second concert I attended in 1991, I believe. Such a waste of a human being and talent. I will always remember him as he was in the 70's.

Introduced by my brothers Pat and Arthur to Rory's music in the early 1970's, I had the pleasure to see him in The National Stadium in Dublin in 1976. Still love him. God Bless you, Rory, and all your family. You Are a genius. I can only imagine what Heaven is like, with you there. Thanks Rory, Cheers, Tadhg Russell, Castleknock.

rory gallagher concert in los angeles. i believe it was the santa monica civic center. i'm not much of a blues fan but when i saw rory on stage perform, i was instantly a follower of his music. playing with what looked like an old guitar that had been sanded down and never revarnished he was impressive. my favorite, messing with the kid.
will always remember you rory.

I saw Rory 6 times in my life. The impact is to much for words. If ever a man made a difference in the world of music it was Rory Gallagher. For him, like he said time and time again it was the live music and audience and the feelings he got from it that made it worth while. One can only feel that he had evolved to a higer level quicker than any of us can imagine and it was his time !
I can only hope hope we all learn from him. I think he tried to tell us that life is worth living if you do what you love. Thanks Rory if you can hear me !

When i started playin the guitar Rory was my first influence. Maybe Ive been a Wayward Child, but smart enough to smell the deeper sense of the Blues! Lotta years are gone now; a lotta Girls came creepin over and beat it. Now I am a old man and the only thing I got me as a treasure is still the Blues. Mr. Gallagher was the honest Musician Ive ever saw and A Million Miles Away from suck in businesses!
I give my deepest respect for that kind of Blues experiences and it always helped me when I was down and out with lots of drugs between the cans of Garbage in Germany! Thank you, Mr. Bluesman. Your music will be always in my heart

"You've done me wrong for the last time
You've sung your song, now I'm going to sing mine out loud, so loud like the rolling sea." Inspirational. Whether Rory was the greatest guitarist ever is debatable, and subject to a conflict of opinions. In my mind though, you are amazing, and there are millions of people around the world, including me, trying to live up to you as a person, and do you justice as a guitarist. I'll visit your gravestone sometime to pay my respects. Cruise On Out Baby. Maltby

Rory was the REAL DEAL. In the era of glamour and glitz he was a staight shootin' blitz! I've been to hundreds of shows and never saw an audience react, go wild from his groove and have so much fun, as I saw at Rory's perfomances.

I saw Rory in a small club in Cheraw, S.C. in the mid 70s. What a night to remember! I lived in Wadesboro, N.C.(20 miles north of Cheraw) at the time. Wadesboro is the birth place of blues singer, Blind Boy Fuller. Rory was a fan of Blind Boy and did his tune, Pistol Slapper Blues on the Live In Europe LP. I found out about Blind in the mid 80s along with most folks from Wadesboro when a book came out about North Carolina triva. I will always wonder if Rory made a crusie up to Wadesboro and if he play played Pistor Slapper Blues in Cheraw. I can wait to find the 'Wheels Within Wheels' acoustic disc. Long live the memory and music of Rory Gallagher.
