I love it when I sing "Boom,Boom,Boom" and my 3 and 4 year old son and daughter sing every word with the song. It proves hoe timeless the blues can be by transending the ages and leaves me with great memories. Thanx John Lee

John Lee Hookers "Im In The Mood" cd from 51 was the first blues cd I ever got and I was only 14, as soon as I heard I knew I wanted to play blues. That was almost 5 years ago now and every time I hear that cd it still has the same intensity as it did the first time I ever heard it. Last spring I played a charity event and a friend of mine sang with me and we did the duet of the song from the Healer. It was one of the greatest moments in my life time. Thanks Johnney for 50 plus years of records.

I grew up in the segregated South loving the blues.
One day I heard that John Lee was appearing at a black only club in Macon Georgia. I phoned there and was told that I could not visit. Later that evening ,feeling that this may be my only chance to see the man I phoned back and ask for John Lee. Without any hesitation ,he said that if I would come out there and get him,he would play for me. I did and he played most of the night. John Lee was a great bluesman but even a greater person.
