I admire you like you could never imagine. You're music, your way, your talent. everyday of my life I wake up to you, usually end the night with you as well. The influence you've had on me is unimaginable. I try and try and try to play like you but I realize there is only one Lightnin. I introduce people to you all the time and they are just as blown away as I am when they hear you, it only takes once, that a sign of a true legend. I would give anything in the world to have met you, jam with you anything, its a real shame I never can. But I do know this, you're alive me each and everytime I hear your songs...It came from your heart and it is coming straight from mine. | |

You have been an inspiration to me for 30 years. I never tire of hearing your music or watching the videos I have of you. My acoustic blues has a lot of you in it. One of my biggest thrills in life was in Dallas, Texas. I was trying out an old acoustic guitar I found while in a thrift store. It was a raggy old harmony guitar. I had my back turned and a black woman tapped me on the shoulder and said, "you sound just like Lightnin' Hopkins". Gotta tell how immensely proud I was to hear that.
