I saw Rory Block play a lot of your song tonight. She talked of your son Claude, Grandson Steven and great grandson Richard Johnson. (Who, by the way, look an awful lot like you.)
When I first heard your music, it was so raw that I couldn't comprehend it. Time and age helped me appreciate what you did on the guitar. Seeing John Hammond Jr. play your songs helped me understand the power and seeing Rory Block play your song tonight helped me understand the soul. Ms Block told some of the stories your son Claude related to her husband Rob. You'd be proud of how your family turned out. It makes me sad to think that no one will ever really know where you are buried, but I hope that you found peace where ever you may lay.

Hey Robert,
Sometimes I wonder at if there is not one more cut of your music lying around in a dusty trunk or an old warehouse somewhere we have not heard. I guess it does not matter. What you recorded had enough depth and passion for ten lifetimes. "I am standing at the crossroads, trying to flag a ride. Nobody knows me, everybody pass me by" Well Robert, you would be pleased to know that everyone knows you now. So you go, run, tell 'ol Willie Brown. You done good! Jocko James, (Bluesman)

The building at 508 Park in Dallas is in danger of being tore down. It is in bad shape!! Dallas has a BAD history of tearing down historical structures. I find it puzzling that the site of Robert's 2nd recording sessions w/ Don Law is abandonded (???) and with no marker!! Why?? Can we,as a "blues community" get together and correcct this?? I'd love to hear from those intrested..
