I was fortunate enough to play with Yank in 1975. I knew him for over 20 years, and he taught me more than I can write in this small space. I will always be indebted to you, Yank. God Bless Yank Rachell.

I was fortunate enough to play with Yank from age 15 (1977) until he passed away in 1997. He taught me everything I know about playing the blues. I played all kinds of music but I always came back to Indy and played with Yank. He was one of the originals and I was honored to have been his friend, confidant and lifelong student. To this day, when I'm playing, I'm often caught with a secret smile on my face .. and that smile is brought on by the fact that whatever riff I just pulled off on those 6 strings was a Yank riff that just "came out" because I was lucky enough to play so much with him .. this music will always be with me and for that reason, Yank will always be with me. He was a generous, giving and loving man. I wish I could tell him how much he meant to me. I suppose when I hit that riff and smile that secret smile .. that is me, thanking Yank for all he gave me. Yank's in heaven but his music is in both places. That is what I consider the phenomenon of "Grace." Yank is rockin' on in the afterlife. Thank you, Yank .. I think of you daily and when I play ... I am feeling your spirit... strong as ever! Thank you ,,,, Love always, Beki
