I think of Luther often, and can still hear his voice &guitar. "Whatcha got, Dave?", was what he'd always ask about my music, and what a wonderful guy - Luther.

Was it 1971 when we hooked up in Sacramento? You were touring with John Lee Hooker and I was being introduced to the blues. We shared a peace pipe at break and I became a fan of the blues. I've been listening to cuts from Sad Hours and plan to cover a couple in my blues band, the Sacramento Blues Revue. Thanks for the impression, your music and life.

It was Sad Hours for me when I searched the web site for you, thinking you were still playing with James Cotton and the Chicago Blues Band. My heart hurts still to see posted the day you died. I share the memories of you with my children. Telling them about the time the band played at the Chess Mate in Detroit back in the 60's. I remember the band coming over playing for the family or should I say the whole neighborhood. Howling Wolf, Muddy Waters and a few more also came over. Oh, what fun we had. Cuz it is so hard to write this I really wanted to see you again. Since your Aunt Maude passed away our family just drifted. I am very happy to say I was sucessful to find some of our cousins that I haven't seem in over 20 years. Jr., we had a reunion in Chicago March 23-25 2007. I'm still looking for Uncle Arthur children and your sisters. I never got to know your children. I remember you having a baby girl born in January. Her name Stephine and mother Gloria. They came from Washington to join you in Detroit. It was very cold that winter. The baby was so small she could fit into my size 8 shoe box. I will try to get in touch with James Cotton to see if he might know of any family members. I pray that I can locate the rest of our family so we all can join together in godly love and strenghten the Tucker's family again. Love always your cousin Gloria Jean.

Has it been 14 years? My God. I remember the night I was at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach and I was telling a friend I was going to interview you and a girl tapped me on the shoulder and said you had passed. I was in shock. I still have the great photos from the Little Walter Festival in Encino. Sad day. But, will there ever be a better blues song than you backin' Little Walter on "Confessin' The Blues"...probably not.
