SPECIAL NOTE: Please Read. Dear Visitors and Friends. We have had many requests from individuals for help in finding comrades with whom they served in Vietnam. Unfortunately, we are unable to help in this regard. The Department of Defense, the Military, and other organizations, in efforts to protect the families of fallen and missing comrades, will not give any information out about the whereabouts or how to find the families of Vietnam Veterans. They have proven to be inflexible in this regard and no matter the effort, they will not and have not given us any information about the Vietnam Veteran. We think this is to protect them for whatever reason. So we ask that you reframe from asking, as we cannot help, no matter how much we want to help. If you go to our member’s page, http://www.tavvntc.org/members.htm, you will find a list of members. Unless they served in the same unit during the time the member was in country, we will not be able to help. We apologize for this, but the DOD and Military will not give us any information for any reason. Believe us, we have tried, repeatedly. We suggest that if the member was KIA, you may check the obituary in their hometown newspaper, which would give a listing of their family, etc. If missing, you might also check the local newspaper in their hometown for info. If they survived and returned home, we have no suggestions. As dearly as we would love to help, there is just nothing that we can do to aid you in finding these missing friends. | Your Comments: | If you are searching for a veteran, write a letter to the vet and place it in an envelope. Make sure you put postage on it and do not write on it. Put that envelope inside of another envelope and include a letter with the vet's name and all of the info that you have about him/her. Address the outer envelope to the nearest regional VA office and include postage.. If the vet you are looking for is in the system and contacted them for medical purposes they will forward that letter to the vet's last known address. I have had success with this a couple of times. |

Seeing news reports of so many new vets returning home, only to end their lives, finally drove me to write a book (My Life, My Hell This Grunt’s Journey Back to the World). I wrote it as an outreach to my fellow Vietnam Veterans and our new returning veterans in order to help them heal from PTSD, for their families and friends to understand why we suffer. No luck, suprised as to how many Johnny/ie Hamiltons there are. He was thought to be from the Lubbock area, not sure. Mother Tucker (as we knew him) and I emptied a few "33"s together before we got seperated. Ron, on the other hand, was a fellow that I never got to know before he was killed in a accident aboard a Merchant ship we were working together. I was the Ol'Salt on the job at the ripe old age of 20. As for Ron, he was only 18, when he died. I'm sure if the good Lord meant it to be I would have gotten to know Ron as well as Floyd. Rarely does a day go by I don't think of him and Ol' Mother Tucker. It's a great day when a city slicker from the Bronx NYC gets befriended by a Texan! God Bless America! After it was over, we came Home and were welcomed like Heros. You great GIs came home and were treated like a bunch of Bastards. You vets, we can never thank you enough for your service there. When ever Mary or I see any GI/vet with a Vietnam Cap Or ?, they get our handshake or even a hug. (and at times we end up in tears). Our Son, Jim Davis was there in 1965 & 1966 with the 1st & 7th Cav- HQ CO 422. He is our Hero and doing OK. Trying to find people who know of incidents that happened over there while I servered as I have severe memory loss and cancer from agent orange. Also, I have been approved with severe chronic ptsd by three doctors but have to find peopled that know of friendly fire that happened and hit the jungle school and 173rd airborne an khe vietnam late 1968 or early 1969. Also, at the jungle school their was an instructor who was demonstrating how to interrorgate viet cong prisoners who was accidently shot by another instructor. The instructor that was shot was standing right next to me while bullets came across the concrete floor and went up the leg and chest of the instructor. Their was like 6 feet of blood in a circle around his body. Does anyone recall this incident if so please call me 318-435-0181 or write 821 Kennon Drive, Winnsboro, La. 71295. Also, Looking for Sgt. Provost, who the the mess hall sgt at jungle school in an khe. If anyone knows "Dittle" who was a tunnel rat for 2 years but came back and was a bartender at the officers club looking for him also. My father was Everett Albert WYATT Jr Sergeant First Class HHD, 1ST SIGNAL BRIGADE, USARV. He was killed in Viet Nam Feb 1968, when I was 1 1/2. I never got to know him, even though growing up and up to this day I still feel his presence. First of all thank you about writing the wonderful things you do. I would like to know more about my father to be able to pass it on to my daughter, who is 5 now and never will know her grandfather.
