| Comments: | Dave, that is in Ojai, click on the link and you can see the tree and where the Shell station was in the movie Smokey and the Bandit. The street that the tree is on is now a single one way street. I'll look you up on facebook for the other photos. |

| Comments: | Are you sure this is Ojai? I always thought it was too, but when I compare pics today...the oak tree on the corner looks like it may be older than 20 years...
But what is cooler still is to know that John Wayne's "North to Alaska" was shot at Mugu rock (the beach scenes of Nome AK), Elvis was on 5th street hitchhiking with Gary Lockwood near Camarillo in the movie "It Happened at the World's Fair", both Clint Eastwood's "Every Which Way but Loose" and Paul Reubens "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" had scenes shot near the Kaiser Aluminum plant in Port Hueneme. Everyone knows that "Back to the Future 3" was shot in Oxnard and PH... Pretty cool huh? If you want to see scene pics of the Elvis scene, John Wayne and Pee Wee scene...look me up on Facebook... My husband used to date one of the classroom girls on Room 222. Her name is Laurie Burke. I have looked her up on the internet and can't find her anywhere in the cast list, so I assume she was an extra or something. Anyway, my hubby and she used to go to Karen Valentine's home and drink ice tea and hang out. I am wondering if you can find me some info on Ms. Burke. I am a curious if she is still living and what happened to her. Thanks! |

The "fun of sport touring" seems to be back in the FJR as the old RS is dated by with great ergonomics. What have you done, if anything, on the strong throttle return on the FJR? My test drive of it caused me immediate notice of this.
Thanks - Joe - PS I am 65 and plan on wearing out a FJR upon my full retirement. |

As good as the CB900 is, in my opinion $2k for a valve job is too much for that bike. You can find good used MCs for 2k. A 900 that runs well is worth $2k. Hope this info helps. Roy |

| Comments: | Hi There,
Nice Web page, Was searching for info on Honda Gold Wing GL1100 1983 model and find your page. FANTASTIC. Question: Can any body help me with the following, it will be appreciated. In 1983 I bought myself a brand new Gold Wing it was fantastic. After 5 years and about 50,000 Km had to sell it as I was moving to another part of the country and my life change that ther was no time for riding the bike any more. Now 23 years later I am on pension and bought myself another 1983 Gold Wing, but no manuals with it. I will like to restore it to its original, but no info available. The most important specs I am looking for is the correct size of the tyres the bike must have on and the pressure fot he front shocks. The rest I got. So please if any body can help with this, it will only help me on enjoying my Gold Wing again. I am from TZANEEN in South Africa. Thanks for reading this, and possible help Regards to all and keep enjoying you bikes. Roelie |

| Comments: | I was in the 1986 race and ended up driving 2 Camel Lights cars in the race. The first one the At&t Argo I was driving with Don Bell broke...I don't remeber if I got to drive or not. Joe Varde asked me to drive his Alba Buick after his codriver said he didn't want to drive. We were just making the driver change and the Bundy/St James accident happened about 100 yard ahead of me. What a mess. Sometime after the restart I passed a Camero in the esses and we lightly touched. I was on the inside (infield side) and the Camero shot off the track like a cue ball. Next lap...yellow flags and I saw it stuck in the fence. I heard someone broke their leg and sued the Camero driver. I was never contacted about it but the Camero driver gave me a ration of S**t the next time I saw him and I told him to use his mirror next time. In 1987 I was driving the At&t factory Pontiac Camel Light with Don Bell all year and we won Riverside. It was 1 of 6 races we won that year. I raced at Riverside since getting my license in 1965 and with IMSA every year from 1979 to 1987 when the last IMSA race was run. Neat place. This is a great website. I disagree with you on one point....Lynn was not very talented and only got about 80% out of her cars....I have to say she was brave, because she drove some very fast and neat race cars and I have to give her credit for jumping into them with her ability. |

The bike is still in teriffic shape and I have it tuned regularly at Honda of Glendale. Brian does a teriffic job of keeping my bike in shape for me.
My problem is that I need a new exhaust system and Honda wants $900.00 per side for OEM. Is there any place where I can get replacement exhausts at a reasonable cost. And, can I go from 4X4 to 4X1, or 4X2 with little change in power and performance? Are the pipe I am going to get like the OEM and double pipes? Any davice you can give me would be freatly appreciated. Thanks, Ted Henson Burbank, CA |

| Comments: | There's a little "play" called A Day In His Life which is a framework for a John Lennon Tribute show starring Tim Piper. It's 1972, and John and Yoko are supposed to appear on "The Doug Michaels Show" (like Mike Douglas-- get it?) but a blizzard keeps everyone but John, Doug, and the show's band from making it to the studio. The intro promises "singer Gloria Loring... from Room 222, Karen Valentine... The World's Foremost Authority, Professor Irwin Corey... and from the St. Louis Zoo, Jim Fowler."
I'm sure Karen could get in free if she wanted to! Think of the surprise when she "finally arrives from the airport" in the last 10 minutes of the show! The show was at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills last week. Most of the same people appear in other formats such as "Revolution" (Beatles tribute) and "Working Class Hero" (John Lennon's music of the 1970s.) |

| Comments: | Hi,
I've just gone through your site and I like it very much. I have neither a CB900 or a Prelude, but I have a 1984 Honda Accord Automatic and a 1973 Honda CB175. I drive the car to work and ride the old bike on saturdays and/or Sundays. Someday I'm going to get me a big bike. The CB900 will definitely be one of my options. Thank's to your web site. |

| Comments: | In April 1986, I travelled to California for a two week holiday, and had
booked tickets in advance to see the Grand Prix of Endurance at the Riverside Raceway. I was in the stands with other spectators as we watched the crash involving Lyn St. James, Chip Robinson and of course, Doc Bundy. I was shocked, and people around him were gasping and murmuring at what they had seen. The real shock for me was that three cars which had been seemingly fine seconds earlier now lay destroyed, and at that point, we didn't know how the drivers were either, if the drivers had even survived. The huge impact of Robinson's car being lifted from the ground, and hitting the barrier, very close to other specators was very strong, and I watched the rest of race, only half concentrating after this horrific crash. When the team of Cobb and Dyson came round to win, I was pleased that out of a moment which could've been a tragedy had come celebration, at least for fans of Dyson Racing. I didn't take any photos, I was too involved in the race at the beginning, and not involved enough at the end. I did consider taking one while the Probe was on fire, but I thought it'd be in very poor taste if she'd been killed. Who do I blame? Bundy. When the accident happens, St. James and Robinson are close together...but not at a dangerous angle going into the corner. It is Bundy who careens into them, starting the whole accident off. I have the accident on video tape too (though not on the video tape mentioned on your site). The science of the accident is in the reaction of the Jaguar. If you watch the video closely, you'll notice that he spins along his wheels, until the rear of the car, with it's body work flies off, and the car loses resistance and downforce at a terrifying rate. What is in even more shocking is that if the accident had happened a few seconds later, a fourth car, which is exiting the pits would've been involved. This factor could have resulted in the deaths of any of the competitors, and Bundy should feel very thankful that no one was killed. |

| Comments: | No show will ever top ROOM 222. In the mid to late 70's, there was WELCOME BACK KOTTER, and the principals were Mr. Kotter (Gabe Kaplan, who co-created the show with Alan Sacks) and the SWEATHOGS (John Travolta, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, Robert Hegyes, and Ron Pallilo).
From 1978-1981, there was THE WHITE SHADOW, which was a role reversal of ROOM 222. Ken Howard, who's currently on CROSSING JORDAN with Jill Hennessy, played a former Caucasian Basketball player turned coach at a Black High School. There's some logic to that. In the early eighties, there was Making the Grade, Teachers Only, and Square Pegs. NONE of them graduated in to their Sophmore year. In the mid eighties, Chris Columbus created a cartoon called GALAXY HIGH SCHOOL. The story was about two Earth kids being transferred into a high school in outer space. That could've been called ROOM 222: A SPACE ODYSSEY. But that was enough to make Stanley Kubrick look like a martian. That idea didn't work too well. Today, we have BOSTON PUBLIC. Now here's a show that similar to ROOM 222 and goes beyond it. We're not talking about Vietnam War protests here. There's race riots, student-teacher relationship turned scandalous, and then some. It's produced by the same company that brought ROOM 222 on the air in the 70's. If you see any further similarites of high school shows to ROOM 222, you'll know what I mean. Thank you for time. SEE YOU NEXT TIME! |
