| Comments: | Jakob, I've added the hot key. Ctrl-Q executes the query (be sure you're typing Ctrl-Q in the query area). About GUI.. you know SWING is quite heavy library, I don't want to create a big and crawling program, there are many programs with web/native interface those are faster. And I have no so many time to write good functionality :( It's just a simple frontend to mysql database that may be used on any platform without installation. |

| Comments: | SAM, because you can have several servers in left treeview, I decided that when you do a query it runs on selected server (you can select not a server itself but any subitem of server). So if you have no selected server an error will be occured. PJ I don't see any reasons to do that. Anyway, you can repackage .jar file. |

It would be nice. :-) It seems, if you know the table has primary index, you can easily build corresponding sql query. | Comments: | Sonia Guerra, just do right click on "Servers" item then enter the host of your MySQL engine. It will be shown in the servers tree. You don't need to edit .ini file (but be sure that you have rights to edit it -- the program remembers some information there: such as the last window coordinates and size etc). |

| Comments: | To Rasmus Schultz: I think it's not possible now, because I don't know a way to identify data row in mysql result set (i need something like Oracle's rowid). If some mysql professional will explain me how to do identify rows in mysql query results I'll do row editing in the program. I've looked into mysql jdbc driver sources so now i think that positioned update not supported for mysql. To kasper b graversen: I did it but now I have some problems with xoom (nbci) and can't upload the newest version. I am trying to solve the hosting problems. |

I have two comments 1. if you already have the mmmysql JDBC driver installed on the system one can start your program with the following java -classpath %CLASSPATH%;mysqlmanager.jar mysqlmanager.mysqlManager on a windows 2. When I quiry a table in my DB I have no way of seeing the content as your program does not allow me to scroll horizontaly. Can you please add a horizontal scroller? thanks for your program -Kasper |

| Comments: | So compact, so great, so simple, and so free! :) ... exactly the thing I've been looking for - I only miss one thing: row editing ... it's not possible to make any changes to the data in the records? hmm ... otherwise totally great! much better than for example MyAccess2000 which costs money, requires Access to be installed, and only works through the ODBC interface ... much better than any of the other apps I've tried, really - but let me know if you plan on implementing row editing? |

| Comments: | Anatoly, what do u mean? If you want to add your server to the servers list just do right click on "Servers" item, choose "Add server...". Then enter your server (for example, mysql.something.com:222, if your server listens on standart port, you don't need to specify it). |

I don't know why the webmaster of the MySQL site wrote this program that works on Windows only; the program must work on any platform that runs java 1.2 (1.3 is better): Linux, Solaris, Windows, MacOS. Just maybe on some platforms you have to change script to run the program. |

| Comments: | Just wanted to let you know. mysqlManager runs on Mac OS X. I used the run-linux command. I haven't gotten the application to connect to the mysql server yet but the gui works perfectly. |

| Comments: | Just click the button with hint "Create new query". You will be able query the selected database, to change database use "use DB" statement. If there are no database selected or you are not connected you 'll be informed in the status bar. Also, you can query table by right clicking any table in the database tree. |
