| Comments: | I love the 1980 formula, a truly rare bird. I am working on mine a 1980 red and black formula. I had a need for speed so the 400 from a 77 ta had to be added. I as well just don't think a front end looks good unless it's a 77 or 78. So I put one on mine a 78. Getting into firebirds is really addicting as now I have 3 to put one togeather the way I want. So far I have an 80 formula with a 400, 78 TA front clip, with a new paint job. I get crazy looks and alot of feedback. Not original but it's looks way better my way.

Body is white, in good shape but hoping to get it imaculate. | Comments: | Had a great '67 400 in high school ('71,'72), silver w/black interior. It was fast as hell. Drove plain cars for a few years in the middle, then got a '86 in '88, red w/black interior. It wasn't as fast, but more civilized with all the nicities, and handled the curves better. Sold it in '02, and went with a jap trap. |

She's in rough shape but her body is alright. few questions: looking for the turbo hook up for the 301, know where to begin looking? Needing new upolstery (stock) for the firebird, where is the best place you know of? and anything I should be aware of/looking for/good suggestions in the restore job? Great site the wife and I just bought our first bird. 99 artic white, T-top 3.8-6 we love it! Its like, life before it seemed a whole lot less inconseqental. We're in our mid 40's, kid's grown and we're on our own again. We'll be driving it, look at each other and one of us will say, "Pinch me, I can't believe we're riding in "our" Pontiac Firebird! We believe that if Pontiac had marketed to our demographic the 2002 would'nt be the last year. Some of us 40 somethings had our kids when yer supposed to have them and now we are ready to rock. We wanted some driving fun. So sorry to see it go. All our friends are green with envy because in our area its just minivans, suv's,and pickups and oh yes, the just gotta have PTCruser, But when our glow in the dark white bird purrs down the street, my how the heads do turn.Oh how sweet it is. Ive had mine for a little while, the previous owner blew out the 301 turbo(not enuff oil the cocksmoker!) and replaced it with the base 301 to keep it stock It has a 2 barrel carb and manifold so its kicking ass with 140hp! It barely does 60...damn I get the run around from everyone trying to find a 4barrel manifold.. If you know where to find parts for that engine Id love to know. Great work on your car, id love to see you at the shows... peace |

I bought a brand new trans am in 1987 and it was stolen. My heart was broken. I didnt want to replace the same very thing and so I bought a 1989 red firebird formula. I still have it in my garage with original mileage of 13,000 I also have a 1989 black GTA with original mile of 21,000 in my garage. My husband and I love our cars and would never give them up for anything. We are both 33 yrs old and are awaiting the day our 2 sons ask for the keys. I think the only thing they will hear is the sound of screaching rubber from our driveway for me and my husband...LOL I loved your site and I enjoyed my time here as I can relate to how you feel about your car.
