| Comments: | I was most amused by your FAQ about Tara vs. Terra! Often I find myself calling a Tara correctly only to find that she and her friends say the other name, geez. As for me, I grew up in Pennsylvania where everybody knows how to pronounce the surname Bender, but for twenty years in Texas 50% of the time a native has no clue as to whether it is Binder with a short i or Bender because in those parts they tend to merge those vowels into something indistinguishable when pronounced. Even when I emphatically pronounce an e many still can't hear it!

| Comments: | You actually knew it was Founders Day? I have a question for you: what the hell is Founders Day? I mean, I know what it is, but what kinds of things does one do for such a day? Anyway, how about Sorority Survivor as a name for your list? It's fitting. It still attracts people with the word "sorority" but also shows that you are past those days and are older and wiser for the experience. Which I think is true. Mwahaha! BTW, I was reuntied with the girl you mentioned in your last entry about a month ago. She subbed for a few days in my preschool classroom, so we were able to get caught up. She was still exactly the same, a little intimidating and avant garde, but she didn't awe and/or scare me the way she did when I was a foolish, impressionable 18 year old. I think she was trying to evoke that response from me, too, but it didn't happen. I think what really got me back then was the fact that she was a philosophy major and was going to transfer to Oxford. I thought she must be brilliant. Now I realize that she wasn't transfering to the university itself, but going to take a year off school and go to the town of Oxford to stalk Thom Yorke of Radiohead. Yeah. I wonder if she ever did go there. I forgot to ask. I wouldn't mind stalking him myself. Siiiigh. Ok bye! |

| Comments: | Arrgh! I didn't get my normal e-mail telling me someone had signed my guestbook, so yeah. Ben isn't majoring in anything yet. He wanted to do a veterinary course, but right now he's starting off with the basics. I thought it would be good (if he goes back to england and never to college again) if he had literature, writing, history, math, science, psychology, and maybe an art history under his belt. Not that I'm deciding everything for him or anything. No, never. He has classes Monday and Wednesday nights, and Saturday mornings. He likes it so far, but says there are a lot of high school students in his classes and that he is definitely not among the youngest. Thank God I didn't go to college at PCC, I guess. And if you are jealous about him going to college, go yourself! Here I go again with the lecture. It may be too late for the fall, but there's always Winter term. Blah blah blah. Alrighty then.
