Your excellent site has been an inspiration to me. For anyone else researching via the internet on the many families from Castle Camps, Shudy Camps, West Wickham, Weston Colville, Carlton-cum-Willingham, Balsham and the many other villages around the Cambridgehsire/Essex/Suffolk borders, then 2 other sites well worth looking at are the Flack Genealogy (Excellent site Jim) and also Historyscape. (You will find them by running a Google search.) I have Woollard, Pollard, Gault, Mynott, Marsh, Clayden, Purkiss, Willings and many others on my tree. Have some aspects of tree going back to the 1500's with a link to Samuel Pepys the diarist! A lot of the ancestors moved to London in the latter half of the 19th century and included cordwainers (shoemakers)and agricultural labourers who the went on to work on the railways, printing, horse dealing among other work. Would love to hear from anyone with the above names in their tree to swap information. |

I live in Ottawa, Canada and am the main Moseley researcher for the Canadian Moseleys who emigrated from Massachusetts. My gg-grandfather, the shipbuilder Phineas Holden Moseley immigrated with his wife Sarah Tilton & 3 children in 1817. | Comments: | Hi Pam, I didn't realise you were in Australia when I emailed you for help. Looking at your site I see we both have a connection with Purkiss and Marsh. My Purkiss I believe ends in a double s. Hard to be sure from the film I viewed, the second could have been a pen stroke. The first name is Jane, born we think in Hadstock, Essex about 1727/1740. My Marsh's are Edith 1824, Richard 1773, Abraham 1774, and Abraham 1708, dates are approximation and both Abraham's were born in Cambridgeshire.

If you go to Yahoo search and type in Johnson Gracemere it will take you to the site about Elmar Johnson also a map of the area where he lived at Maudsley Hill. There is a wealth of information on this site. |

| Comments: | RE: HOBSON. I am researching my family history in Cambridgeshire I think that my ancestor John Hobson also began the Hobson-Frohock line he was baptised in 1813. The earliest I have gone back is 1785 to Thomas Hobson who married Esther Binge and later Pheobe Norman. If any of this rings a bell mail me.
