Finally, it dawned on me to try SIVA. As I say, duh! The pix are great, the BSB, the connections; but, particularly, just finding everyone is still there! It didn't seem like the family to up and disappear. This is timely, of course…more on that later, I have to finish reading all the old e-mails now! Is there a chance of making to Mahamilana this summer??? My kids might not be able to come...Svea's heading for Denmark, don't know about Sten-Ove...where do I get tapes? I first met Father in Manznita, Oregon just as I was coming out of the water from a surfing session. I remember his giant smile and hug accompanied by the grinding of his teeth which put a decent chill down my spine. I was helping Nelson and April Souza open Father's Restaurant back then (1974). We shared a couple Winstons, a couple chillums, and he made us a family curry dinner. I wasn't part of the crew there to meet Him and ask things of Him which he immediately realized so we kind of shared a few winks and smiles during the visit when He was getting hit on by the local desirous masses. So here I am surfing again today (the 90's way) and I run across Him again. Another good chill. |

| Comments: | I am passing along a beautiful letter from Jasper Thelin. As you may know, Jasper was diagnosed with lukemia and elected to go through chemotherapy accompanied by other alternative restorative treatments. This letter speaks for itself.
March 21, 1998 Ever-Dear Friends, Spring is upon us, and I'm entering a new season in my jouney as well. Consolidation chemotherapy finished last month, eight months after I embarked on my leukemic adventure. The mighty ship's high-tech armaments and vector shields are provided by western madicine, with the top crew of UCSF. The buoyancy and wind in the sails of the voyage, however, are supplied by you, the most wonderful supportive and inspring firmament of friends and family a sailor on such a turbulent sea could ever dream of. Your generosity to the fund has allowed me to keep an apartment near the hospital and out-patient clinic and afford other non-medical expenses. Although I am not working, I am living back in Forest Knolls now and there is no longer an urgent need for the Fund. Please know that your contributions, monetary or other, have been invaluable and are eternally appreciated. I've just had my final bone marrow biopsy - shipshape results - and am now starting maintenance chemo: taking pills every day for 2 years. They'll adjust the dosage so that I can keep taking them without side effects. My body is adjusting from being in bed processing toxins for so long back to an active life, my hair is almost an inch long and growing (apparently the same colo rand texture as before). Mentally and emotionally I am keeping health and recovery in the forefront of my mind while enjoying getting back to some of the people and projects of my life. I'm coaching nephew Spencer's baseball team with the Ace, mom is preparing my Chjnese teas and getting ready to garden, and my beautiful Mia fills my sails and powers my vessel.
