| Comments: | Hi, my 5th generation grandpa was Justinian Mayberry and Mary Ann Hauser/Houser of Frederick, Frederick Co., Maryland. Their oldest son was Israel Mayberry, his oldest was Thomas, my grtgrandpa his brother Francis (aka Frank)and my grandpa was Henry Hamilton Mayberry who married Nancy Alice Hamilton (no Relation that I know of) from McMinn Co., Tenn. They met and married in Cooke Co., Texas.
I visited his gravesite in Hickory Community Cemetery at Hickory, Ok near Sulphur, Ok. My grandpa's ranch was four miles east of Hickory, Ok., in the Chickasaw Indian Nation at that time in the late 1800's He was killed while roping a wild range steer in the area. I am still searching for my ggrandpa's brother named Thomas Mayberry. This family line were from the original Thomas Mayberry from Herefordshire, England who owned and operated the Hereford Furnace in Pottstown, Pa. My dad died in 1973 in the Old Soldier's Home in Ardmore, Ok and my sister (Edith Louise Mayberry Lambert) had him buried in the National Cemetery here in Fort Gibson, Ok. She was living here at the time. We all grew up in Tuskahoma, Ok, south of Muskogee approximately 100 miles exact from South Loop of Muskogee, Ok. My dad (also named Frank) was a rancher and farmer. I retired from the US Army as a Chief Warrant Officer with over 21 years of active service, I retired at Fort Campbell, Ky in the 101st Airborne Div. 101st Admin Co. as a Personnel Officer. Bye. | Comments: | A few generations down Thomas Leroy Caskey is Linton Shaw Caskey who married Velma S. Farmer. Their daughter Pearl married Houston Butler Southern. They had a daughter Dorothy Jane Southern who married Bruce W. Smart about 2 weeks from their high school graduation. They moved to Colorado. She left Bruce and went back home to her parents. When she left she was pregnant and had the baby, from what I have heard, in Ft. Knox, KY (or somewhere near there)where she stayed with either her mother's sister or her own sister. I've heard she had a daughter. Should be somewhere around the age of 53-55. This daughter would be my "step" sister?!? Dorothy Jane was my father's first wife. Both dad and I have looked for a number of years for this "girl". Do you by chance have any information on this part of the line. I am searching for my WILSON's in Missouri. William Michael Wilson was born in Tennessee, Jan. 28, 1830, married Harriet E. Murphy in Arkansas in 1854. They had 3 children in Morgan County, Samantha J Wilson was born in Buffalo Township, Morgan County 1859, she married John J. Jinkens and had at least 5 children, WHO were they and what happened to this family? Fountain Napoleon Wilson was born July 2, 1863, married Mary Louise Lade(s) in 1882 and had 8 children. Williami Harriet Wilson was born 1865 just 5 months after William was killed in the Civil War. Harriet married James Cross Stevenson in Haw Creek Township, Morgan County and had 4 more children. His father was James William Halligan, and his mother was Martha (Don't know her maiden name.) He homesteaded in Kansas with his wife, Bertha. They had 11 children. When he received the deed to his homesteaded property, the government had mis-spelled his last name. In fear of losing the land (because of the name being spelled wrong), he changed the spelling of his name to: Hallagin. I would like to hear from any one researching these names. |
