My oldest son Scott, sent me this Honorable web site concirning your beloved Church.I am from Wheeling WV.
as were my parents, and their brothers and sisters. All of my aunts ,uncles grand parents, are deceased.I have always wanted to research my family tree, but I do not know where to begin.As far as my family name, Ratcliffe.. The name and orgin comes from Wales. The name Ratcliffe.. is that of English Iron ore Miners.{Meaning RED CLIFF} Any type of direction in this is welcomed. When visiting my mother, Lillian Sires, in New Albin, and there would be some function at the Mt. Hope Church, she always wanted me to take her the church. For many years a relative, Mimmie Jane Sires Spiegler, lived close to the church and I remember visiting her in my youth. I also have a relative buried in the church cemetery. Marvin (Buzz) Joseph Sires, Jr in 2002 and his wife, Beula Mae Sadler Sires in 2006. I have many memories of Mt. Hope Church.
