| Comments: | I have a new baby slider turlte that seems to be sick..your website has been a huge help...I am going to make an appointment with a vet tomorrow...I believe he may have a respitory infection based on the information you have shared with me...bubbly nose, breathing through his mouth, not eating and basking all day and night, I am also sorry for your loss..I lost my baby brother last year to suicide, he was more like my son and though I can't understand your pain fully being I did not give birth to him I can understand what you must be feeling...Wishing you a happy new year.

| Comments: | Like many others, I was looking for information on a turtle that was given to me about three years ago. It was given to me by my daughters friend. Unfortunately, we are a unique group of parents. We both have lost a child. My middle daughter died almost two years ago. Jan. 31. A car accident. She was pronounced brain dead on Feb.1.2006. She was 19 and of my children, most like me. Of course, to say my life has never been the same is something I do not need to say to you. You know the pain that only a parent who has lost a child can know. You are the first person I have talked to on the net. It feels strange, but sometimes there is no one there who wants to listen. They feel that life goes on and you should too. From one mother's heart to another, I can truely say I do understand. I wish that no one had to know this pain. It is Christmas day, the worst part is that there are no presents under the tree with her name. I have bought an angel the past Christmases I guess to keep my sanity. The worst thing I have done and perhaps the most ironic, was trying to choose flowers last memorial day for the accident site. It was so ironic, worrying what ones she would like, almost like a Christmas present. A mother should not have to know the pain of losing a child. May you find some moments of peace. | Comments: | We are truly sorry for your loss. We will keep you in our prayers and thoughts. I stumbled onto your website seeking information on turtle's hibernation. My husband and I are dog people, but we are house sitting for my mother and she has a turtle. She found the turtle in her backyard about 1 year ago in Louisiana. We think it is a tortiose! It truly has become her best friend. It eats out of her hand and when she calls it , it seems to come out of her burrow! She named it Tomasa because she doesn't know if it is a boy or a girl. This turtle is my mother's one and only pet ever.
However, I must tell you this. I never understood why children die. I never understood how could my God, a loving God, would do such a thing. A Christian friend of mine explained to me that it is not God that does these horrible things, but rather satan. He has however been defeated and your daughter is in heaven. And yes, there is one! I was saved about 7 years ago and I have a testimony from here to Texas. Know that Jesus loves you. I will pray for you and your family. Have a Blessed day, Aricia & Wade |

I have recently been reading a book to help me to help others in times of loss. I have been surrounded by so much lately and it seems people turn to me for answers. Since all I have is faith in God and not much knowledge about heaven or what it will REALLY be like I began a search for answers. My pastor loaned this book to me, and it has really helped me to see Heaven as a place where Life goes on but there it is MORE than here. As the Bible says, "Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known." 1 Cor 13:12. The book is called Heaven-Your Real Home, by Joni Earikson Tada. May God bring you more peace, more comfort, more hope. |
