I have never smoked, so while I have plenty of sympathy for those who are trying to Quit, I can't say I "know how hard it is".

| Comments: | thanks for caring enough to build this site for others. I smoked 1-3 packs a day for 19 years, was in intensive care and on life support, had growths removed from my lungs, and had numerous other surgeries, was a single, widowed mom of two young boys and all this still did not make me quit. The only thing that worked for me was to give my life to the Lord and surrender all to Him. I haven't smoked for two weeks now. I only made it this far one other time. I know I will not fail this time as long as i keep my eyes on Him. |

i have tried more times than anyone that i know to stop this life taking habit of smoking. 2 weeks ago i joined an n.h.s. clinic to finaly this time quit for good. on there advice i have chosen the nasal spray which i find to be very good,my stop day was the 24th march and i have not smoked since HOORAH! ANY ADVICE OR TIPS ETC WOULD BE GREAT HOW DID YOU FINALY QUIT? |

| Comments: | Quit for 5 years, started again more than 5 years ago, and just quit again 2 weeks ago. It is a strange battle that only those who have been there can understand. We hear alot of stories about cancer and whatnot, but what is NOT nearly as well publicized is the research that has been done on the effects of smoking on the bones and teeth-bad bad bad! Also, research is showing that children exposed to second hand smoke are 30% more likely to develop tooth decay--they have cotinine in their blood too, which has a negative effect on tooth enamel. Just browsing looking for support today, because as bad as cigs have screwed up my nice smile-which I am about to have to pay big $$$ to fix now, I still crave every so often-you know, that wave of "i want a smoke". Just needed a place to tell the smoke to go to hell and be among others of have done it and are still working through it. Peace. |

| Comments: | My quit date was Jan. 26/04 I am in a new drug trial
program for quitting and this time it has helped. Since Jan 26/04 I have not smoked 1 cig. This is after 1 to 1\2 packs of Export A a day. Still crave but will hopefully get over it. |
