Enjoyed you at The Moose last night, as did my daughter and her friends. Your blend of rock and blues never disappoint and they were impressed, as I always am. I've seen you in several different venues and what is wonderful is that you play with the same intensity no matter the size of the crowd. Not only does your skill and love of the music come through because of this, but you all are "good people", friendly, down to earth and family-oriented. Randy, Mark and Doug ... you are some of the best musicians around and have a reputation of being respected by other musicians and fans alike. Tim is a great addition on keyboards and I hope he is a permanent one. All of your "guest" musicians keep the show fresh and entertaining and it's very gracious of you to invite other musicians to sit in, some who just show up to see you. Most bands aren't that generous and secure. The gentleman (who's name escapes me...sorry!), the one who was doing sound last night, almost as good as Phyllis usually does :-) ... His vocals on stage and in my ear during the dance we shared were very nice. Seriously, great voice. Oh and I can't forget Nathan ... a rocking drummer with a fun personality. Always makes me laugh! While I have been a fan since I first heard you guys play at the old Mulligans a few years back, you now have some new, younger fans ... Not groupies, Nathan, fans! :-) I know the rest of the band knows the difference ... :-) ... Okay, now you know I have a sense of humor. To Phyllis ... I love what you've done with the web site. I only wish my voice was better in a noisy environment so we could talk more. I think I asked you if you got the pix I took of the band at Bike week. They aren't very close up shots, but if you didn't get them, let me know and I'll send them to you. Just email me: debjoweb@aol. Anyway, great job guys. Love the band and hope to catch you guys again soon.

It was kinda nice to dance and drink all night and not worry about the sound. Aaron did a good job running sound. I will miss it but not as much as I missed dancing.

mark is one of the most talented bass players on the planet. If he could express what ever is built up in mind, maybe write it down! he probably would end up a wonderful song writer. Music is his only giving trait, he gives it well. Learn to give at life....love...forgive and not be so cold.

If you use Internet Explorer as your web browser then the clips try to play faster than they are being downloaded which causes viewing and audio problems. A permanent fix is being worked on, but until then you can just let it play a few seconds and then push the stop button and start over. You may have to do that a few times before the whole video will play properly. It may depend on the speed of your internet connection. If you use Comcast or Verizon DSL (which are both very fast) then you will have less problems than if you are still with a dial-up provider. In fact, if you are still with a dial-up provider you have problems viewing the pictures let alone the videos. I was SO happy when Verizon finally offered DSL in our area and I could get rid of our dial-up. So, try doing that and I will keep you updated. Now, if you use Firefox as your browser it downloads the whole video before it starts playing so there is no problem. I use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. I have both on my computer but I usually use Firefox. Also, if you have a Mac you will not have a problem. So, please leave comments if you have any questions and let me know if this helped.

I always think it’s best, for musicians to be true to what and who they are. that way, you come across sincere, and the band will have integrity. but at the same time, offer songs that are danceable, that fall within the style of music that is the bands personalty. good topic / question.

No this is not a survey! I happen to love the music that Crossroads plays. This is just about dancing. And the music Crossroads plays makes me want to dance…all night. But you bring up another point. Do you think bands care whether people are dancing or not? Should a band change musical direction if people are not dancing? Sounds like a whole different and interesting post. You should create a new post! I think lots of people just want to listen or talk with friends and don’t even want to dance. That is what I’m wondering about. One of my favorite bands was Dr. Hook & the Medicine show. I had all their albums and they were a wild looking bunch and their music was great. It was their own…Shel Silverstein wrote all the songs on their Sloppy Seconds album, but their style was certainly their own. Then along about their third or fourth album the pictures of them showed their hair cut and they were all cleaned up and their music changed to more mainstream and that was pretty much the end of their career.

I have a question for you who go out. Do you want to dance when you’re out or just listen to the music or mainly talk with friends? When I used to go out a lot (before being married) I wanted to dance all night. But that’s me, I love to dance. Now it seems as if people aren’t quite sure how to dance to classic rock, or southern rock, or blues. I would really like to hear comments about this.

OK, everybody needs to join the Loyal Order of the Moose before November 30th when Crossroads plays there. Well, I guess you can just find another member and get them to sign you in. There really aren’t that many good bars to go to anymore, and that is one, but you do have to be a member. LOTS of pool tables, shuffle board tables, cheaper drink prices, dinners, dances, activities, community support, and slot machines. I’ve said all this about joining the Redmen Lodge, too. Join both of them!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and didn’t hurt themselves too badly. I made three pumpkin pies and have not eaten any. Quite amazing. Last year, and every other year, when I made them I pretty much would finish one off in a day. I ate it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. I love pumpkin pie but I’m trying to lose weight. I really picked a good time of year for that, didn’t I? It truly will hurt me to throw them away if somebody else doesn’t eat them. Randy is eating chocolate pie, he doesn’t like pumpkin pie. His family likes sweet potato pie and his mom made those. I didn’t go shopping today but Randy had off work and went out buying tools.

We have Thanksgiving dinner at Randy’s mom’s house and I get to make the pies and deviled eggs. I have finished the pumpkin pies and chocolate pies and I need to go to the grocery store for more eggs, but not tonight. My youngest son and his girlfriend of over four years broke up so it’s not a happy time here. I don’t even know what to say. When you’re in the middle of that much pain you don’t want to hear much. I just keep going in his room so he knows I’m thinking about him but he wants to be alone. They’ve been together since their senior year in high school and now he’s in his fifth year of college. Sad, sad, sad.

I’m finding it hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week. Time is moving way too fast. How do you slow it down? Actually I have found that the more I accomplish in a day the longer the day seems. Randy has been working in the garage organizing and building shelves. I’ve been finalizing the last four videos of the band. I videotape each show and make a dvd for each of them. It’s time consuming because I edit the video, add chapters, titles, pictures…but I enjoy it.
