Miss PKA , hope I can visit.
Everyone is invited to Florida to visit.
David Lentz's PKA is truly one of the top schools in the country. Bar none , Also Kudos to Amato's in regards to stand up. Both shaped me into the two time hall of famer I am today. Thanks Guys,

Let me start out by saying it gives me great pleasure to write this letter to your guestbook, so that others may read it and not take years to find out. For five years I have been researching schools to get my son into a school that offers mixed martial arts and brizilian jiu jitsu. I talked with instructors at each school, I went to fights, I went to tournaments, most local was Brookdale College. Through all that time and research, everyone I spoke with has trained with you. Each and every conversation lead back to David Lentz or Professional Karate Academy. I had been to your academy and was very impressed, yet I had to gather information from all over to be sure my son get the best training my money could buy. I ask myself, why is it that these other guys never produced any fighters? They love to talk about themselves and why I should bring Ed there, but again, I ask, what's the end result for these guys. What do they have to show for themselves and their school? Then I look back to you, and you want to know something? Take a look at list of people I met and researched, all trained by you! I normally don't name drop, but just look at this: Joe Viz; Karl Spendiff; Michael Kaplan, Mark Shopp, (you may know him as Dapalino), Jonathan Heleotis; David Church; Deividas Taurosevicivs; Mark Berrocal, Jim Sweeney; Carlos Desjardin; Pete Rego; Rich Ashkar; Mike Gibbons; Jeff Williamson. Do you think I did my homework? LOL!! Hey, Professor Lentz, I am looking forward to bringing my son to you. It was worth all the effort to find what I consider to be the best. I am a teacher by profession, and I understand that just because you know something, doesn't mean you can TEACH it. Apparently these guys just cant teach? Ed and I look forward to seeing you in class.

Comments:Hey...I just signed on with Master Lentz! I did my homework. Called around and checked out schools. Seems like everyone comes up with the same name! What's up with that? I would ask "who trained you" DAVID LENTZ. Finally got smart and googled DAVID LENTZ and there he was. When I say I did my work, I DID MY WORK! had to share with him my journey..he say "yep, trained him. Yep, trained him". Heres the difference. Went to a school , nice school, nice quys, everyone is happy. Run by a guy, trained by David Lentz. Helpful instructors, trained by David Lentz. Am I gonna pay to get trained by a purple belt who was trained by David Lentz? No F@#@ way!! So, I go to David Lentz, and does he let me train? I am interviewed by him....BY HIM!! to let me train with him! Four times I go back. I want this guy to train me. Mater Lentz, you. are worth the interviewing. You made me sweat it out. And I'm not talking just on the mat. The REAL stuff. Not some happy" let me take you in" guy and "let me teach you the half of whatever I remembered" stuff. Master Lentz, you ARE the REAL thing. Thank you for letting me in. See you in class and my army buddies are interested too. Who knows when I am going back "over there" but I tell you one thing, I will sleep better being trained by you. Thanks again. You the best.

Comments:Master Lentz is the best jiu jitsu instructor in new jersey bar none. Any person saying otherwise knows nothing about jiu jitsu. I would drive 25 miles each way, five days a week to train with master lentz despite having several jiu jitsu schools close to home. none offered the experience or high level of devotion that i found in master lentz.
if you are looking for a top shelf jiu jitsu instructor search no more you've found one.

What Ray was doing there, I have no idea...but what a credit to you!!! You're the best and it is a privledge to be trained by you! Just thought you would like to know! Awesome. See you in class. PS: Went thru the training videos you have on your site... That guy you were training in Mexico was monster size!!! and you choked him out!!! :-/~ You're something else man!!

Lentz has a lot of experience and professionalism, and given it is a family run business speaks volumes. Great place. We will see you in September and I will be sure to pass the word on to friends. You should get the word out more too.. advertisements and such. You guys are great!

Comments:I researched many places before going to Master Lenz. His depth and breadth of knowledge is extensive. He is so good at teaching both the novice and experienced student, and can say he is nothing less than exceptional. I travel over 30 minutes each way to make it to his class whenever I can, and I would travel farther if I had to in order to learn from him.

Mr. KT, who also does the kickboxing class, is wonderful with the kids! One night the owner of the school, Master Lentz, was working with the children, and I thought in these days of show me the money schools, here's a karate school that really cares. I saw that you have gift certificates and will be buying several classes for my 9 year old neice for Christmas. Wanted to tell you your place is great! I think I speak for all the people there when I say don't ever stop caring the way you do, you are unique. And, I have dropped 8 pounds with the kickboxing workout!!! Thanks KT and Linda

Comments:Master Lenz is a fantastic teacher. Jujitsu may seems simple, but there are so many nuances and subtleties that a lesser teacher could miss. Master Lenz's breadth and depth of knowledge is substantial, and I doubt I will ever truly appreciate how much he knows. He is an excellent and thorough teacher.

I enjoy going to his classes despite the 30 minute drive each way I am willing to make each time. It's worth it.

Comments:My son and I have been going to PKA for three years now.
We both take Brazilian Jiu Jitsu taught by Master Lentz.
Right from the begining I knew we were both priveledged to have found a school of Martial Arts that was For Real.
In an Era of all these hocus pocus schools that take all your money and give you lots of colored belts, PKA stands out as a true Professional Acadamy, just as in the name.
Every person in the school just gets better and better each week. I can only get there 7 or 8 times a month and
I feel myself improving all the time.
Master Lentz is a very intelligent Master of Martial Arts.
His experience, talents, and knowledge of Jiu Jitsu and other forms of karate are second to none. But his best quality is his ability to teach. He knows every move inside and out, and conveys the techniques perfectly to the class.

Comments:I have known David Lentz since 1973. We have been friends ever since. I have trained all over the US and have met, worked with and experienced the best this country has to offer. David's school is at the very top and has been since it's inception. I operated my own gymnastics and marital arts school for 20 years my association with Mr. Lentz helped to propel my own programs. I trained with one of his top students and MMA competitors, Davedius (sp?) and I can attest to the fact that while a fantastic athlete, his success stemmed from the knowledge gained training at Professional Karate. I look forward to 20 more years of being associated with Professional Karate.

I have been looking for a facility to continue the development of I aquired at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Artesia, New Mexico- PKA has offered me the solution in a friendly and persnal environment. Master David Lentz has trained with the greats of Martial Arts and when he is instructing, you can almost hear those great fighters speaking through him. I would literally have to travel the globe to aquire the knowledge being made available to me at Professional Karate Academy.

Comments:Hi Dave, and Lisa,
I just wanted to say hello, it's been a long time.
quick update on what's happened since I left:
I got married, had a baby girl(3yrs old), finished my engineering degree.
I now am employed as an Instrumentations Systems Engineer, by Northrop Grumman, in support of the US Navy's Top Gun Program, in Fallon Nevada.
It's pretty interesting, I get to drive all over the desert, and get paid for 4-wheeling in the moutains.
Another perk: world-class skiing in Tahoe is only 2 hours away.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know; I frequently think of you and my awesome experiences at your school.
Best wishes

We hope you had a wonderful holiday season! I just signed our boys up for a Jiu Jitsu class and they appear to be enjoying it! (Dave you're the inspiration for this!) The head instructor has been involved in the art for about 60 years (He started when he was 6 years old!) and is quite familiar with the Gracie family. It's a well run class with quite a few students and instructors. I hope they continue to enjoy it because this man has ALOT of experience and knowledge that they can learn from. We wish you both peace, happiness and good health in the new year!

Comments:Hello Dave and Lisa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love your web site. Looks like the school (and you) are doing well. I'm really happy for you. I do miss your classes and hope to visit some day soon when we are on the east coast. Tom just competed in a traditional kung fu tornament and took a silver in point sparring (the gold medal winner was a 22 year old. As Tom said "Not bad for a 44 year old") and a bronze in form ( the gold medal winner was a master from china and the silver medalist was from the east coast; Maryland, I think). This was an international tournament with competitors from china, canada and a few other places. You would have been really impressed with some of the wushu demonstrations. There were alot of scarey looking weapons flying about. Tom also competed in the spring in a kung fu tournament in Canada and took a silver in full contact sparring. He amazes me and our two boys. When you have time try to check out the Seattle Kung Fu Club web page. There supposed to be posting pictures from the tournament soon.
