Looking for any Beatty/Beattie that has all of these surnames of Wright, Love, McEwen, Edwards, Little and Graham connected to them around the Co. Down area of Ireland. Beatty/Beattie children immigrated to Canada and used to write letters to Emma Love [Wright] Gaddus as they were cousins. Emma died in Whitensville, Worcester Co., MA., in 1936.

I read about you website in the Almaguin News and went right to it. Having been away from South River for many years, it was wonderful to be able to go to different cemetaries in the area and actually see the headstones of relatives and friends. I can't thank you enough. In the South River photo of ladies gathering, my mother's married name is misprinted, it should be Mrs. Karl Maeck, not Mrs. Carol Maeck. It was also nice to see my sister and I in the school photos, along with classmates we haven't seen for years. You are doing a wonderful job. Thank you so much. |

I can get you this if you would like. The one that is missing is my uncle Hector Lalande junior, he is buried on the other side of my grandparents Hector and Antoinette Lalande because he was divorced and single at the time of his death. His brother Francis is going to be buried beside him because he is also single. He is still alive as of yet, but when the time comes I can get you his photo too.

| Comments: | This is a great job. Just two days ago, I told my wife that it would be good to go to a cemetary with a camcorder and film all the grave sites and then record them on a software of some kind and then upload them on the Internet.

| Comments: | Hi Murray. Just read the Nugget story. GREAT IDEA!!! Are you going to be doing any Temiskaming(Tri-Town area) cemeteries soon? I used to be a surveyor there and there's one gravesite you may find interesting. Turn of the century.There used to be a lot of logging around there and my partner and I stumbled upon this one. It's clear around there now so it's easy to get there. On Bay Lake in Latchford. 3 or 4 markers still there and depressions in the ground. Came upon it one wintry morning in November, gray sky, quiet, no birds, light layer of snow, VERY EERIE... Can't remember exact location but talk to most citizens and they'll know. Tell 'em Mike Preston sent ya! Pioneer cemetery in New Liskeard has couple of thousand markers too. Silverland cemetery just north of Cobalt would be really historic too because of the famous silver days. Anyway, goodluck! I'll send some more info in the future and hope it helps. This is overwhelming! Being a genealogist and having visited many, many cemeteries to obtain photos of my ancestor's headstones, I can tell you that this pictorial record will be invaluable to researchers in the future. Grave markers are ravaged by the elements, neglect and even vandals, and some cemetery records are STILL held in the caretaker's secret filing cabinet with not even as much as a written index of who is in the cemetery. I am going to propose to my local genealogical branch that this would be a great project for them to undetake. They have already indexed each cemetery in their area.
