You should put some more info about the new creatures one could find in new fabtasy/sci-fy books... The "old" are too ordinary already? I strive for that in my books, I created creatures like the water dragons for example, fierce, giant animals with extremely valuable meat that can lengthen the life-span of any human... Do you use sites like zazzle.com, cafepress.com? They could be a good way to promote your work and "remove" stupidity like headlines on T-shirts, cups, fridge-magnets. etc: My boyfriend kisses better than yours, FBI - female body inspector, etc. I guess not everything we think of should be about sex, it's much better if there are more good pictures of mythical, fairy-tale creatures, good thoughts from fantasy/sci-fy genre like: One could fight money only with money. my Tale Of The Rock Pieces.
