Hi There,
What a great site. Loved reading about what happens once you leave the Park East and get to the grounds--I never quite get that time. Jeanne @ the Park East/Irish Fest Desk

Hi Paul,
Nice site, and thanks for mentioning me in your blog on the Milwaukee Fest (Saturday evening). I had more fun there than a person has a right to (legally, anyway). The Park East roof was my second home for the duration of the Fest! I was surprised (pleasantly, I might add) at the number of Metloef drums that I saw over the weekend. I love mine and it just proves that you can't keep something so good a secret for long. Rob does make a fine drum and while I also have an O'Kane (another fine piece of work), it is most often the Metloef that goes out the door with me when I am off to a session or gig. Hope to see you back in the Twin Cities soon, Paul!

Hi,
Does anybody know why halpin@sympatico.ca does not work anymore. I need another of his bodhrans. Is Fred still in good health? Does he produce them still? The "order" address comes back with a "no recipient" reply.

Hi different-drums-of-Ireland Paul. Only since a few days I came across your website. I'm glad something excitingly new about bodhrans is happening on the net. I'm enjoying all your comments. Especially the 'tuning' part was new to me. Looking forward to read more about your evaluaton of the different types of bodhrans. I surely will recommmend your site to all my bodhranfriends in Flanders and abroad. Got to practise a lot the top end style and try to weave it into my Kerry style. See your site later...

I really like this site. So much so, that I purchased your "only legal thing..." T-shirt. I am not sure, but I may get arrested for wearing it up here in West Texas.

As a frustrated musician still looking for an entry point into making sounds that please me and hopefully others, I have falling on a bodhran. This process has not been overnight but something of a metamorphisis. I know nothing takes away from endless practice but I guess for personal reasons I have found it difficult to enjoy the pain and criticism.
There is something about the rythmn of the drum which attracts me and the bodhran seemed to typify that. Having been at Cambridge FF recently and having had one too many shandies...I bought one!! First observation, it's not as easy as it looks!! Second, after a quick search I found your site.......after 5 mins something sounding a little more pleasant on the ear evolved. I've now book marked it and will look forward to developing a style that others enjoy!! Laisez les bon temps roulez!!!!!
