Hello! This is Julie Lorraine Jackson. Land lord is a very rude to us as I went to the police station and then go secc office as they knew I am deaf and cerebral palsy as land lord said don't know handicapped as landlord want me out of this apt as not right as Stu came home from his job at heinz 6 pm he got mad and I told Stu I saw too Stu got mad at landlord as I went to talk police and police knew me deaf and cerebral but police told me go secc for copies and I said ok police then I was talk to lady about it as she can copies she would send to windsor for us as we do not have the car she understand me as I told her that landlord is greedy and she laugh as agree with me as sent to windsor for us as Stu said leave sister alone from land lord too. Secc knew bad landlord as they are so stupid as I told secc that Stu work 12 hours week owner said do not care about Stu work 12 hours as owner is a very rude to Stu as Stu told me that stupid owner.court say leave Julie Lorraine and Stu alone court will say stop it to them to leave Julie Lorraine Jackson as owner and landlord want more money that wrong. | Comments: | Hey Jocelyn. I’ve heard nothing from Fait Accomplit [my story was in English though - does that make a difference?]. Maybe they are still making decisions or something. Without wishful thinking I would cease to exist. I just don’t get it. I ran it by my published friend and he said it was “Good!” [actually he didn’t say it he wrote it in an email – also, I added the exclamation mark and capitalized it cause I feel that had it he said it to my face he would have been a touch more ebullient]. Anyway, it has become obvious that he was humoring me. Next time I see him I’ll punch his stupid lights out [figuratively speaking of course – I’m sure he’s got figurative lights somewhere]. I’m thinking of a nom de plume so I can establish a comfortable emotional distance between myself and future rejections. I want something that’ll make the people who reject me remember my name when/if I ever move onto bigger and better things. It’ll have to be one of those one name dealies like Madonna or Sting. Maybe something like ‘Scuff’ or ‘Gibby’. So you’re trip sucked? I bet there’s big mosquitoes in the Yukon. I couldn’t handle that. I always thought that if my life fell apart I would for sure open up a piano bar in Whitehorse because I’m pretty sure I’d be able to corner the market. 'Gibby’s Piano Bar'. I’ve since come to realize that I can’t play the piano and to run a bar I’d need at least a six to eight week course in mixology. So shitty. I just had the urge to write, “My life is turning into a Judy Blume novel” but I can’t remember what her novels were about other than that one was called ‘Superfudge’. That sounds like the radio edit version of my life at the moment [‘fudge’ being the euphemism...only I guess ‘Superfudged’ would have been better title]. Well it's not that bad at all really. | Comments: | so i have a story for this CompLit collection. do i have to be a U of A student or can I be a grizzled old University of Western Ontario student [heavy on the grizzle]? the story is very short and not that good but i am trying to be pro-active. i am 25 years old [is that too old?] but i took a CompLit class in my undergrad and we had to write a story about someone we met on the bus so i wrote one about this lady who smelled like gingerbread and i made it so that she was scouring the earth for the gingerbread man whom she'd had an affair with in the 70's but he'd run off [that 'catch me if you can i'm the gingerbread man' sort of thing]. anyway that's not the story i have to offer but it was well received in the class...actually maybe they were humoring me. Come to think of it they probably were. anyway if they are still seeking additions i have one [i showed it to this guy i go to school with and he said it was good. he wears those shoes with velcro instead of laces and he doesn't seem to care. i mean he's pretty 'out there' which i guess really doesn't offer any indication of his taste in shortish stories but...just so you know]. |
