Comments:I lived in Linwood (Northbridge} most of my life. The Whitin depot was still being used well into the 70's. I used to get up in the engines and cabooses when the local was switching cars or even waiting for a train to come through.(can you believe it?)
I now live in Worcester on the CSX (old B & A) main. I'm glad to see that there is a club and museum to help preserve the memories of this great rairoad.

I just printed out a membership application and will have it in the mail very soon. I am currently expanding my lay out to include your railroad but need more information on the rolling stock the P&W pulled. I would appreciate any help you could give. I also have a big interest in the Norfolk Southern, Bessemer Lake Erie, Western Maryland, B&O, C&O and a local here in my area called the SWP railroad.

In 1992 I spent about 6 months in Dayville, CT residing close to the P&W line and had the to opportunity to do much train watching. I permanently live in Palmer, MA and get see to lots of CSX, Amtrak, NEC, & MCR action. Being a train modeler i am in the process of building a large layout which will include P&W. I've just finished painting a bay window caboose in P&W colors after the P&W Fan Club car in Webster. Can anyone help me find the original P&W numbers for that Caboose? Help, Please!!!

Once lived in Worcester and remember the yards.
My Dad and his kid friends played in them in the 1920's and remembers always getting chased out (a dangerous place to play).

Comments:Hi -

I was hoping someone could help me with approximating the P&W current dark brown and red-orange for a model I am doing, a Lionel version of the U18 "Baby Boat" P&W 1801. I have heard cutting New Haven red-orange with some caboose red works OK, but what about the dark brown? Does anyone make custom P&W colors for model railroaders?

Thanks for whatever help you can give.

Comments:You have a very nice site, lots of interesting things going on. I photographed the so called Taftsville Tunnel recently on a trip from VA to ME. I stopped in Tafsville to ask for directions to the tunnel. Everyone looked puzzled or sratched their heads in that typical New England way. They all replied there is no tunnel here, but if you cross the bridge over there and go to the top of the hill, park under the power line and walk toward the river, you'll find it. It actually seems to be in Lisbon, was Lisbon separated from Taftsville? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Comments:This looks like fun. Nice site. I grew up on the main line. I lived in the Fairmont section of Woonsocket, I remember the last steamers in the 50s. How about "The Bandwagon bridge. It is/was a wooden span over the Blackstone that connected from River Street to Sayles St.

I am freelancing a layout from the Penn Cental-Conrail merge and will have some P&W in the mix.

Am searching for information on early P&W operations, including those under the NewHaven name.
