| Comments: | Glad to hear you share a love for cockatoos! They are such
beautiful animals. I have been doing heavy researach on buying an Umbrella. (I have had various birds all my life) I recommend that you get a book by Sally Blanchard called "The Companion Parrot Handbook." It has some very good information you can benefit from. It did mention that cokcatoos (or any parrot for that matter) do not have to be in pairs.It is actually better to have no birds at all if you can't pay enough attention to the one you have rather than buying other parrots to keep them occupied.It is important that regardless if you own other birds you should always give each bird personal attention and nurturing guidance. I recommend that you get this book as it covers everything from A-Z that you would like to know about raising a healthy companion parrot. Best wishes to you! |
