Ode to Friend, unfornunately, this happens to too many of us. My Niece is going through what your friend went through. She left him two wks ago...went to a battered women's shelter...didn't hear from her for a week..me thinking she was okay...getting herself together....then I hear she went back to him. What does it take? what does it take? He has beaten her down verbally, so much so she has no self esteem. I've talked to her, her mother her friends...to no avail. I am sad for your friend, my niece and all the others. I pray she does not end up the same way. Your poem is sad, but very poignant. Have you thought of publishing it? Your Website is wonderful, and yes I remember the fifties, sixties, and seventies. SHHHHH don't tell anyone LOL...I was born in 1950. I remember where I was when John Kennedy was shot....was in English class when the anouncement was made. It didn't hit me til I got home...don't think I stopped crying, til hours later. Where did you find the Dove and Branch of Leaves Peace Sign? Haven't seen that in years. I do go on, sorry it"s so lengthy. Blessings~Peace to you and yours Sincerely......Karen |
