| So...what did you think about me?: | I am impressive how smart you are and all the funs and loving care from your family. It is a blessing that your parents found you, saved you from the bad sides. I love your pictures matching with words to fit the story. I am an animal lover!! I am deaf, ablitly to speak fairly and read lips but I also use sign language for other deaf people and pets, specially dogs, too. I used to have a black mixed Labrador Retriever and German Shepard. The face was more likely the German Shepard and the body was from Labrador Retriever and I had her for about a year. One of my hearing friend found her, only a very tiny puppy alone in the alley in Washington, DC starving and timid, so my friend heard the puppy cries and brought to my former boyfreind asking if I would want to take him after they went through looking if someone lost the puppy. No one contacted and so they asked me if I want the puppy and I hold her with an open arms, comforted her, fed her and all that. I had the puppy when I moved into a new apartment and I did not get a chance to put up a light door bell on the door that would flash when somone ring. I named the dog, Brandi that way easy for my former boyfreind who can't speak too well but actually could just called out her name. That time Brandi was about five months old and I flew home to Boston for my brother's wedding and stayed with my family for a week. My boyfreind drove up to Boston to stay few days along with Brandi for few days before we drove back home to Wash, DC. after the wedding. My family had a dog, a German Shepard that time so one day, while staying at my parent's home, one of our family friend came to my parents's home knocking on the door. My family's dog, (Lady) ususally barked for short time because someone was the door. Well, ever since then I and my boyfreind went back home and few days later at our apartment, someone came at our door even tho, we could not hear but with the help for the first time Brandi barked and jumped on me to give a signal so I went to check the door through a peephole and it was one of our friend. What a blessing because Brandi got the idea from my family's dog. So Brandi then realized that we were deaf and we taught her sign language such as No or Yes, sit, play, eat, etc and she had done so well. Smart and witty! I love her from the bottom of my heart but sadly, that after two years, someone stole her away. We went through the vet's office, posting lost dog and never came around and broke my heart after all. I must admit learning a little lesson, that one of my hearing friend told me that I should be cautious with strangers and not to let them know what my dog's name was, so they could actually took her. Beside, I did let her out run around in the yard with the high fence and Brandi can not possible get out from the fence. But someone clipped and broke off the fence obviously, took her out or letting her getting away. I was also aware that Brandi was a "too" freindly dog to meet anybody. Sigh.. I miss her so much but accepted the fact that it happened and moved on. My boyfreind would offer to get me another new puppy but I said no because I felt it was unfair for him or her living in Washington, DC where there were and are still many tourisim going around. I used to live at Capitol Hill, one block from Supreme Court and the Capitol building are right there. It was hard for me but I felt that I made the right choice after all. So I had two kittens, grown with them and they were indoors at all times and lived with them til their deaths. One male cat named Jo-Jo lived to 13 years and Dee-Dee lived to 11 years and died from an illness. One thing to tell you brief that Jo-Jo had one eye and oh, he was adorable smart. The shelter told me that they found him a tiny kitten somewhere and that they took to the vet to clean him and because of one eye so the vet fgiured proably was born that way from a freak mother cat. Anyways, I took him home for the first time and he was bumping/hitting all over the rooms. Geez.. I was so worried about him but I knew he was learning and the next day he learned fast getting to know where he would be at in rooms or a kitchen. I wanted to share this story to you and to let you know that I am sure you are much grateful having a wonderful family saving you for love and comfort.
