I have done some research on Fla Territorial history and find the Osteens actually preceed that back to the 2nd Spanish occupation 1783-1821. They were also the 1st settlers in Aligator, Fla (now Lake City)and heavily involved in the Seminole Wars as well as the Mexican and Civil War. Very colorful family,(I'm related) Would love to talk to you about the extensive genealogical records on the Osteens of Fla. Great website! Hope to see you in Fla soon. |
