I discovered your page by sheer chance, and have to tell you that apart from all the invaluable content, the thoughts the experience and feelings you convey, there was something that touched me even deeper as a result. Many of us reach the point where we start to tare ourselves apart emotionally and spiritually about where the journey leads, for some it is a foregone conclusion that living the third gender is a part time scenario and are happy to step into it when the opportunity arises or the urge takes hold. For others there was never any question, and once on the path a determination to reach ones goal is set. I am a 43 year old pre-op MTF girl that has been given a LOT of inspiration by you and your site. I know that you probably receive hundreds of comments like mine a day, but you have truly been an example, an inspiration and a huge resource for me in my journey. I am currently approaching the time where I will have to make a permanant transition and I will be honest, I am scared to death. I have lost the relationship with my parents, with my daughters and several "close" family friends. I cannot tell you how much your website has helped me in understanding the 'constant mental tingling" known as transgenderism and how to learn to live with our dilemma. Your honesty, humor, and intelligence clearly jump out on every page and I enjoy reading your updates. I am going through a particularly challenging time in my life. My marriage of 12 years has dissolved and I am slowly trying to rebuild my life. I am trying my best to find balance in my journey as I feel as you do that transgenderism is about finding peace and acceptance with all parts of who we are. My biggest challenge has been building friendships as Edy and not feeling so lonely. I have been to Atlanta on several occasions to visit with Phoebe Cross. Her makeover services are exceptional but there are limitations to what she offers. Any advice you could give me on how you intentionally built friendships would be helpful. Time for me to check in again. Once again, you have set up a fabulous website. Sorry to hear of your misfortune in the relationship department. Right before I met my wife I was at a point where I had dated what seemed like hundreds of girls. Some relationships were good, some bad, some ugly (haha). I did some reflecting and realized that I had been looking too hard for "Miss Right". I didn't stop looking of course. I did however ask myself the question: Would you be OK if you never got married or found the right one? My answer was surprisingly: Yeah , that wouldn't be the end of the world. It was actually freeing and liberating. In other words if it happened great but if not ......OK. It really relaxed my whole being. The next year or so was really the most fun I had had in a long while. I was a lot happier with myself. Then I met my wife and the rest is history. We've been married going on 7 years now. Challenges have popped up along the way of course. We just overcame a brain tumor this winter. She's doing great now. At any rate you seem to be in that place now where if it happens great but if not.....OK. I love your approach of filling your life with activities that you love. This will be extremely fulfilling and enriching. I think your ad was classy and did a nice job of identifying yourself and the person you're looking for. I wish you the best of luck. From what I can tell you certainly deserve it. I had an appointment scheduled with Phoebe Cross for late April but had to postpone. It was obvious to me about 3 weeks ago that I couldn't leave my wife even for a couple of days. We've since found out that caffeine was causing all kinds of problems. Since ditching the caffeine life has been wonderful at our house! Hallelujah! I went ahead and paid Phoebe for the "lost weekend". I own my own business and understand the value of someone's time. I also felt awful about "jacking up" her schedule. So I've got an appointment reserved for an as yet to be determined date. After this winter it will be very, very nice to have some "me time'. Sorry for taking up so much time. One other thing. I remember from your site that you played football in high school. Judging from your jersey # in your picture were you a guard? I ask because I was myself. 165 pounders can do that in single A West Tennessee football ( haha )! Also noticed you were in a fraternity. I was an Alpha Tau Omega how about you? Thank you for not just being brave and having the courage but also for putting in such a great amount of effort and work into creating a fantastic website. I am the 'husband' referred to a little below.... and i am excited to say that I am now beginning my own transitioning journey 'proper' having been to see my GP (I am in the UK) and he has provided a referral to the Gender Identity Clinic - so now I am just waiting for the letter. I know it is a "Journey" i have ahead of me and nothing I have already experienced in the last 39 years will be anything like what is to come, but I also know I am not the first and I am not alone. I am a little anxious/nervous and apprehensive at times but more than anything else I am excited and glad that despite however difficult it might be, it is beginning and the lie I have lived will diminish as I am am able to say truthfully "this is who I am". Finally before I sign off, I want to say that I am very grateful and VERY lucky to have my amazing wife standing beside me as I embark on this new stage of my life. And she introduced me to your site :-) |
