| Comments: | Ruth, looked at all your pictures. Beautiful and amazing that you can do this in Corel Draw---really like the one with the pansies, and the farm. Was trying to do your Knife Tool tutorial that I saw in Unleash. Not successful the first time but have worked little with knife too. Looked at Draw help, Draw manual for knife tool instructions but found none--am in Draw 9 (and was on Draw8). Can cut a rectangle or circle with knife tool, but disecting the eye like you tried to show did not work. Know that you can't go back to square one on your tutorial so almost certain is my experience lack and not a fault of yours. And Ruth, am going back to your knife tutorial again...and will let you know if I get it, but this looks a long shot right now. Also looked at one of your symbols tutorials. VERY interesting. Also really liked your Web Site and will be returning. Had seen a mention of YOU at Unleash and at other places but had not looked till today. Usually work mainly with text but what you do is so good---outstanding. Ruth, I swim year round for physical fitness, but I sure like your bicycling idea too., Twenty-five miles is a good run. | Comments: | I think I've already signed your guest book, just wanted to let you know I was back and again very impressed. I want to learn to do art like you but just between me and you, I would rather learn it on Adobe. I like Corel a lot, but so far as I have seen, Adobe is the corporate choice for computer graphics. I have seen evidence of this myself thru the want ads, and doing internships in graphics business. I will be teaching a school to work class called Graphic Communications which will mostly cover building skills with the hardware and software and prepare them for further education in this area, or possibly get a job just using the basics that I will try to teach. Don't know if you will see this message, but if you know of anything I can do to meet my above goal with my students next year, let me know. I will be back! Love what you do. |

I have friends that use Macs and tell me Corel sucks compared to illustrator and freehand, I can do more in ONE program than they can do in two. Mac users are wimps haha, just kidding. I use Corel for everything, can't wait to see the new "bells and whistles" in version 9. I am using 8 now and am very impressed with it's power. I wish I had time to do beautiful illustrations like these, I am too busy with desktop publishing and corporate stuff.
