| Additional comments: | I have had my tan short bed 66 since 1986. It's had a frame off resto with a powder coated gray frame, paint top to bottom - inside and out, traction lock Dana 60, C6 with 11 inch converter and a 390 Performer RPM engine. It also has air conditioning, sway bars, disk brakes and power steering. I would like to yank the C6 for a Tremec 5 speed, maybe this winter? These trucks are awsome and have great lines, they are true classics! Enjoy the ride. Thanks Brandon |

| Additional comments: | this truck started after a girl hit my '63 econoline pick-up and totaled it so I bought the 4x4 which the vin #'s state as a 2WD after a farm sold. the body was shot so I bought a 2wd for the body which still has the original paint on it. normal rust but not bad. complete frame off since changing bodies. front discs from mid 70's truck, chasis coat the frame after cleaning, 300 I6 4 spd granny, new wiring harness, I have bought an era correct A/C add on unit to install, power brakes, and steering. hope to have it back together this summer less paint and body work. It will be used to tow our camper and get me back and forth to work daily. I miss driving an old truck. |

The gentleman that I purchased it from put a 302 motor and automatic transmission from a '73 Torino in it, and it runs like a brand new truck. I would rather drive it than a brand new truck. | Additional comments: | I have a 1961 unibody with a 223 6cyl and a 3 on the tree It was bought new by my grand mother, its a short box with chrome bumpers and grill and wipers, it has never had the dash cut for aradio, it is green and white. |

| Additional comments: | One of 3, I originally raced the truck, so no it is NOT stock, I did a Volare front end swap (cross bar) for better handling and front discs, pulled the fuel tank out of the back, and put a custom built alum. cell center rear frame, frenched in a gas filler and door, and replaced the steering column with a GM tilt unit out of a van because original made it difficult to get in and out. I then frenched in gold series guages into the original decorative discs in the OEM dash. I ran the truck for two years with a .10 over 429, and C-6. Had to reshackle the rear springs which accomodated (barely) a set of 13" street slicks in back. In 01, Life caught up w/ me and the Family demands necessitated swapping a stately 400 and better gears for me. of course now I get 17 Mpg and can actually listen to the original radio when I drive!Despite all of the setbacks she's almost done (which means I cant think of anything else to do to her), and some day, i'll get to dust of the big boy and my son and I can tear it up some more. |

| Additional comments: | I've been a Ford fanatic, like the rest of my family, for all of my 32 yrs on this earth. I have just recently purchased a 1961 F-100. This is the oldest vehicle i have ever owned, i've had the pickup going on 2 months now. I bought from a very good friend for $500.00, I don't know much about it(history and such) but at time of purchase-present the inline 6cyl, 3 on the tree converted to the floor runs like a bat out of hell/ tight as a wedge. The body could use a little work, no biggie, and it is primer grey. The only work I've put into it so far... replaced the starter, re-ran all the wiring front to back in and out, and replaced the almost completely worn out steering knuckle. It is my primary vehicle and I absolutely love the smooth,smooth ride. Previously owned Fords were 1978 F-150 custom, 1978 F-150 ranger, 1992 ranger, 1996 F-150 extended cab, all have been fleet sides. Hope to have more plus pics later. |

The 63 is a shortbed truck that had a 57 bed on it when I got it. I change the bed, and put a 65 bed that is a fleetside on the truck. Looking for parts for it now. However, when I traded for it (two cases and a 12 pack) it had a locked-up motor and an International Harvester bed on it. After two months of modifications I put 65 mustang buckets in it built a custon front bumper and a flat bed. Money was tight (college student) so I traded labor for a 67 pontiac V-8 350 and a turbohydro 350 auto transmission.
I ran the truck for quite some time. Unfortunately, when I parked it later, it was stripped of parts for others (with out my permission). Any way I currently drive a 2004 crew cab F-150. Other Fords I have owned included a 75 F-150 Ranger camper Special and a 1992 ford ranger. I am searching for an older crewcab for a restoration project. -Bob. |

So I flew down rented a truck and trailer and spent the next 4 days and 2300 miles bringing it back. I figure the expense was at least equal to the value of the truck. Since my Father in-Law, Tex, bought the truck new in 66, there is also the sentimental value with my wife riding in it as a kid.
Except for some issues with the ignition wiring this truck is in excellent shape. Tex has the beginnings of altzhimers so its kind of sad I can't get much history from him. I plan on keeping it on the road and in great shape for him. |

The truck is nearly done, and has been for some years, just haven't gotten around to finishing it. My other '64 is an original shortbed, 292 with 4 speed, daily driver, currently stored. I'm now driving my '66 shortbed with a mildly built 390. I use this truck for everything, and call it my fishing truck. I have a '66 longbed which will start, and drive, but has not been on the road in many years. It has 80K original miles. Unfortunately, it spent many years outside. It's been sitting up since 1989 and I am about ready to get it back up and going. I like the straight axle and front motor mount. It will have sound insulation / deadening, air conditioning, power steering, tach and probably bucket seats with a console or a "3 piece bench" with a fold down console. It will have a custom "seamless" wood floor in the bed, a mildly built engine and will get either a "car" geared 4 speed or a C-6 auto for the trans. It needs a little body work before it's ready for paint. I will likely build steel 3" wider fenders for the rear. The color will be a light metallic turquiose. It was assembled from 12 different trucks. |

I fixed her up a little by painting the rims, grille, dash and getting new front and rear bumpers. It has a 300 six that runs pretty good. I enjoyed taking it to some car shows in my area this summer. I am in Ontario Canada and finding parts for these is tough. If anyone has an idea where I could find a good tailgate please let me know. I am considering upgrading to P.S. , IFS and disk brakes, maybe swap engines for a 302? I just want to make it more drivable. If anyone could steer me in the right direction how to get started and the best way to install, or the best vehicle for a donor IFS,PS and front disks would be a great help. This model I am told was called a California special and included vinyl dash, visors, and a vinyl fuel tank drape, as well as Mustang buckets and a center console. All was there when I purchased it except the console which I am convinced must be a borrowed unit from a mid to large format vehicle, but since the model is so rare I have only seen 2 other samples and have not gotten the feedback I need to finish with this 2-tone beauty. It is Bengal Tan with the original 292 Y-Block with a three speed on the column. It also is a Custom Cab with an updated interior freshening. I love this truck and prefer driving it over the two Mercedes we have in the garage. The truck was originally bought new from a Mercury dealership in Barrhead, when I put the truck on the road I will be the second registered owner of the truck. The truck came with original bill of sale from the Mecury dealership. The trucks options include turn signals,four way hazards lamps, hot air heater,17in. tires and anti-freeze installed by the dealer.
It is going to take a little of time to completely restore the old girl. Numerous dents and small amount of rust on the cab. |

We have been to many wars together and I have never been left at the side of the road (at least not for long). I recently bought an f250 4x4 that a 21 year old young man purchased after a restoration and ran it through a grass seed field and it caught fire and was a complete burn out. The engine and drive train are all good so here I go down the restoration route. |
