Great reunion yesterday ! ! ! You all did a GREAT job and a lot of hard work. Janice and I will be getting married on June 19 here is the Dallas area. You guys made here welcomed this weekend even though she is from Indiana and knew no one. Amazing it has been 41 years ( I'm a '69er). Time passes and good to see everyone last night. Wish I were closer to visit more often. Pastime on Friday night was fun also. Janice loved the Boudin pizza. Had a visit with Mom and Dad (still on Marilyn Dr behind BHS) and older brother and wife. The Reunion last night was a blast. I had a wonderful time. It was great seeing all of you that attended.I really tried to get around the building and speak to everyone that I could.To those of you that I didn't get a chance to talk with hello and I'm sorry that I didn't get to you. If the reunion would have lasted another 12 hours I'd of got to everyone there. And I might ad I'd of really gotten a lot more loaded than I did. Michael and I have 2 children and have been in Houston since '87. Mike has started 3 businesses, sold 2 and is currently in business with our son Jason. Houston was a great move for us and truly was a blessing. I am not one for keeping in touch with my "OLD" friends at Broadmoor and I apologize but I often think of the wonderful times we shared. Since I spent my high school years in the choir room as Mike says, I have to say it was a great place to be. Thanks to Jack Story who inspired me to teach music! Just think Glee Clubs are cool now! They were back then also but just a few knew about it. Friends like Lulie Long Cosby, Ellen Baker, Susan Pruyn Weber, Karen Tricon, Janet Futrell, Linda Pruyn, Paul Lentz, Jane Bozeman, Becky Harris and to a special friend Susan Richards that was not in choir. You made life fun! Life has a way of taking us on adventures that I never could have imagined but I think we were all very blessed to attend a great school and one we are all proud of. For quick newsbrief of my life: '77 married my Ben Martin;'85 moved from LA to AR; '84 our fourth child was born premature;'87 our fifth child was born premature;'88 my twin brother, Bobby, was killed in an auto accident; '94 moved back to LA from AR;'95 my father passed away, '97 attended the BHS 20yr reunion which uplifted my sad spirit even though I wished Bobby could still be there; since then four of our children have married (1st,2nd,3rd,& 5th);our fourth daughter has patented an idea and hopes to have it marketed in the near future; we have four granddaughters and two more granddaughters on the way. One granddaughter has been a patient of St Jude since Feb'08 (she was 8 mos old when diagnosed) and has about a year left of treatments. Our life has had its share of ups and downs but has been an adventure which didn't require much travel at all!! Hopefully, my Ben & I will be able to come to the 40th to add another adventure to our life. It will be great to visit and try to catch up on the past as much as possible...if not,well..."Cyber-space to the rescue!" |

| Comments: | I was a transfer student from Connecticut the year we graduated, and didn't know very many students, but I attended the 10 year reunion (lots of "Did you graduate with us?"). I left BR after graduating from LSU, and returned in 1988. I found Trudy Slocum when I began teaching at Westdale Middle School in 1991, and she finally got me to go to the mini reunion at Hymel's on Saturday, July 19, 2008. It was fun to "re-meet" some of the class members.

Reckon we'll see everyone tomorrow evening. I couldn't find my old yearbook so wasn't able to brush up on names and faces. But it should be fun! I hear about all these grandkids and get a little sad that I don't have any yet. Daughter Tiffany (27) and her husband live in SLC and Evan (25) is in grad school at Oregon State. Things got a little slow at home five years ago on a cold January night. Yup now I have a 4.5 year old, Wyatt, full of energy and keeps his mom and me fairly tuned up all the time. I started planning retirement awhile back and Patricia told me to forget it. She reminds me I'll be about 70 when Wyatt graduates from college. Oh well, he is worth it. Take care everyone! |

| Comments: | As Leslie (Young) mentioned earlier, we were married in 1975 and have been living in Lexington, KY since 1979. We are proud parents of two children, Cody and Courtney. Cody leaves for college next year with Courtney following the subsequent year. Leslie retired after 27 tough years in the public schools of Louisiana, Georgia and Kentucky. Recently, she purchased a long-arm quilting machine and has more business than she can handle finishing quilt tops. Since retirement, Leslie has spent a lot of time looking up her friends; and this website has proved invaluable. Although Kentucky feels like home after 25 years, we may have to get a condo in Baton Rouge in order to keep in contact with all of the Broadmoor crew. I am a Professor of Oral Pathology at the University of Kentucky College Dentistry. Leslie probably will keep me at work for another dozen years or so before I get the chance to utilize a condo in BR. |
