I have to say that wagons are a favorite. They are rare when new and even more rare when restored on the show circuit. I want to thank you for taking the time and effort to salvage one that was in pretty bad shape, making new and whole again. I grew up in a 1956 Ford wagon, it was our family car from the time I was 4 years old until I entered High School. It went many miles, saw many adventures including getting swamped at Cape Hatteras, NC during a huge Hurricane that cut the Island in half. But it made it home safe and sound. It was a great that left me with wonderful memories. I used to stand on the rear hump of this two door wagon, looking over the front seat when my father was driving. I asked him one day what happened when the odometer went past 99999 - he said the car would blow up. being a junk yard junkie, I waited in anticipation for that day to arrive, expecting a huge fireball - but he sold the car with about 86,000 miles on it when we moved to Los Angeles. I wish I had that car !

Comments:HI! I was looking for a '56 ford Parklane wagon like my Mom and Dad had when I was born. My Mom said they could have purchased a '56 T-Bird for the same price. But for newlyweds looking to start a family in a couple years, the Parklane was more economical for them. (My Mom still drools over her '56 T-Birds when she sees them on the road.) They had their wagon for 10 years. It was Dark Green over Seafoam Green. Does anyone have one they would like to part with? I'd prefer a fixer-upper for my boys to work on.

Comments:Hey Great Site! I really enjoyed your site, and have to complement you on what really appears to be a first rate restoration. I am almost done rebuilding a 67 Mustang convertable of my brothers that should have never been started. Wow what a job, but it will be a real nice job when finished. I have a 56 Country Squire that is about where you were 5 years ago. It is the 292/fordomatic, black with the fiesta red/white interior. Your links and supplier contacts will be a great help to me. Keep up the photos!

I am now in the process of possibly buying a 56 tudor Parklane wagon I saw in Hemmings. The car is in Northern California not too far from me. It looks really nice. He's asking $25K. my projects. My daughters "65 Falcon Sprint is in there as
we are clearing up the last of the electrical glitches,
then the Parklane will get the attention. Adios

Got your E-mail. Your wagon looks great. I've always been

wanted something a little different as a delivery vehicle
but it would be really easy to get carried away restoring
it. We're doing an art show in Tucson this weekend. Maybe
we can get a look at your wagon. George

Comments: Roy, it looks like you're having fun with the Ford. These old cars are a great way to meet people and have a good time. The shows are what really makes the work worth while. Between the rain storms that have been with us all summer, I got in a few shows. The high points are, in the last two shows I finally managed to beat a car that has been kicking my tail every time he showed up for the past 10 years. (It's a friendly rivalry.) I also pulled a best of show trophy for the second time.
Have fun with your car and take good care of it!
