| Comments: | I have nejoyed reading about the many items you have read it brings to memeory my childhood at grandma's farm. Watching her in the kitchen, it was where I learned how to put up jam's and jellies. It also reminded me of going to visit my uncle lee in stilwell and helping sort apples or pick strawberries. For a city kid those are memories that are hard to transfer to my children, so that is why after spending twenty years in the Army we have moved back to the country and have started getting back to the basics.

This was virtually impossible in their former countries since the aristocracy owned nearly all the land. I have seen my husband walking around today with bland eyes wondering why he works 80 hours a week for our 4.7 acres. I fear for the future of this country and this is the first day I felt okay that God didn't bless us with children. What is happening to us? Was 9/11 an excuse to start the erosion of our rights? I have been searching for ways to re-involve the middle class in the peace movement. For a number of reasons the mainstream has been alienated from the peace and justice movement. Primarily I feel it has been through the introduction of the random and unpredictable element of the anarchists, some of whom may actually be plants to achieve just this effect. Regardless -- we are in need of an ever-broadening way for Americans to express their concerns without the risk of being exposed to violence or arrest. Peacekeepers with children cannot responsibly expose their families to such hardships nor can they make large time commitments for petitioning, meetings and sit-ins. In addition, due to the increasing amount of government surveillance and the usurpation of privacy rights in this country, many citizens are unwilling to sign petitions or to enlist in specific organizations. I encourage this vast and brilliant network of caring individuals and groups to think outside the box and be creative in conceiving of positive, creative and non-violent ways to express their desire for peace and global justice. The desire is there -- it is time for new techniques to set it in motion as a force for transformation. Below is my humble offering -- I ask that you pass it on and I thank you for your heartfelt efforts to turn the wheel of the world in the direction of peace and prosperity for all.
