You know folks, we're not getting any younger (even if some of us may be entering our second childhood). What's the word, are we going to have a reunion or not? |

| Comments: | Hello, My name is Stephen Williams, I am the oldest son of Barbara Ann Dorough, I wanted to express my gratitude for the Rememberance Page on this website. It is is comforting to think that my mother who died at such a young age, 33 can be memorilized for ever along with the others from the Class of 1962. I was 12 when she passed away following a 2 1/2 year battle with a brain tumor back in 1977. I remember her talking about her days in Mr. Watson's band which inspired me to become a member of the Pine Bluff High School Band as well. I played the trombone and went on to play in college as well. I never heard much about her school years, I was told that she was a very shy person and because of her height, she was self conscious. If anyone remembers her, I would appreciate any stories or information about her as she was in school. During my recollection of her, she struggled with an abusive husband, my father, and had to worry about where she was going to get the money to buy food to feed me and brother. By the time I was 12, I was not aware that her illness was something that would take her away, until it did on June 25, 1977.
Again I want to thank you for having this webpage |

We have 33 classmates and upper and lower classmates who have already checked it out and like it. And just for the record on where to have the reunion...since I live in Hot Springs, I vote Hot Springs is the best place. My house can put up 10 sober folks and maybe four more that are not, due to the hard kid mattresses on bunk beds. |

| Comments: | Okay. My two cents (now worth -$0.23 on NASDAQ so I hope you shorted).
Time and Place. Everything from May through September has been suggested. Seems to me it's ALL hot and humid. We've done September before on the lake in Hot Springs and in Pine Bluff. Sweltering. So unless we're prepared for, say, February or November I can't see much difference. Place? I'm thinking ONE. Let's say I'm driving / flying in from somewhere. That's a room for Friday night. Unpack. Party. Then, arise hungover early Saturday. Pack. Bum a ride (assuming I've flown in), drive an hour or more to another locale, book another room, unpack, shower, blow-dry and style the remaining 38 hairs on my cranium (which I don't even know what that means, McCauley, with your "bifurcated") and I'm already exhausted just typing it. Personally? I love Hot Springs and the lake. Except we graduated in Pine Bluff. If we get 100 or more graduates and spouses to our 50th (which we WANT!) and it's in Hot Springs that means 20 or more party barges just to enjoy the lake without feeling all high-school clique-ish about it at age 67 and I'm already ticked off I'm not going to get invited on Billy Roberts' party barge. The one with the expandable / collapsible loo, aft, which if you use it you have to empty yourself because Roberts is too cheap to hire a crew to do that so why buy a loo-equipped party-barge only to make you feel like a chamber-maid in the first place? So I'm thinking two days for our 50th, in Pine Bluff. I liked our Friday night catfish deal at Harbor Oaks a few years ago, with the mosquitoes. I liked our Eden Park deal at our 45th. It's a lot more informal than the Country Club; has a separate indoor smoking bar for smokers; and we can no longer fill the room at the Country Club and there's nothing more disheartening than a half-empty party room. I don't get paying a live band $1,000 any more. Everybody's got an iPod with every song ever recorded; the venues have sound systems to plug into; Eden Park's got a dance floor and there can be great dance music all night for those who want to shake their booties -- for free. Mostly, I think, at this stage, we all just want to get together and eat and drink and mix and mingle and talk and enjoy each other and dance if we feel like it . . . as economically as possible. Of course, my two cents' worth has plunged to -$0.31 on NASDAQ since I started typing this so don't go by me. |

| Comments: | If you go to our site and go to CONTACT US, you'll see we still don't have email addresses for 159 classmates.
36 more have passed on. That's 195 classmates out of 287 PBHS Class of '62 grads for whom we lack email addresses. That leaves 92 graduates WITH email addresses. (And we have 5-10 more email addresses today than at the time of our 45th Reunion three years ago.) In other words, 90-99% OF GRADUATES WITH EMAIL ADDRESSES ON OUR SITE ATTENDED OUR 45TH REUNION. That's an incredibly high rate of participation. What's NOT so impressive is that we DON'T have email addresses, as of today, for 55% of our living classmates. Just think if we did! |

| Comments: | The idea of having a "bifurcated reunion", thank you Mike for a big word like that, is just a little food for thought.
At the 45th reunion we had approximately 80 to 85 graduates in attendance. My thoughts were to try and do something a little different that might increase the participation of our classmates that have not been attending and giving those that have been attending yet another venue and reason to be there. The attempt to out do or even duplicate the previous reunions becomes harder and harder every five years. Each year more and more of our classmates either pass away or move away leaving the task of putting a reunion together to a smaller and smaller group in Pine Bluff. The parties are relative easy to stage. It's the finding of our fellow classmates that is really the difficult part. With the help of Bob and others,we will try and put together a list of the lost souls and attempt to update our mailing lists with those that have changed their address. |

| Comments: | I am opposed to the idea of having the reunion in both Pine Bluff and Hot Springs. It might be OK for those who live or have second homes in one or the other, but those of us who don't have places in either city would have to book 2 motel rooms and drive to 2 different places, while trying to enjoy the festivities. It seems it would be more complicated for those who have to fly in. I think we should take a vote between the 2 cities and let the majority rule, as we did for 45th |

| Comments: | I suspect 'cousin Mike' might be hoping for an earlier reunion date because the Razorbacks might field a football team worth seeing. Sounds logical to me. But I will go along with the two site suggestion. And what has happened to the idea of combining our reunion with other PBHS graduation classes fore and aft? Just asking. I also appreciate the work Mary does to keep up with us. Thanks! |

| Comments: | My two cents -- I suspect that if we have one night of the reunion in PB and one in Hot Springs that you will see some PB folks in PB but not in Hot Springs and some Hot Springs folks in Hot Springs but not in PB. Net result for those of us that will attend both - you'll get to see some people that otherwise would not be there if we have it in one location.

| Comments: | I like the idea of a two night reunion with one night in Pine Bluff and one in Hot Springs. I prefer having it in May or early June rather than the fall. Spring would feel more like graduation in 1962...fall would cause a few more conflicts of weekends been filled more that time of year. Just my thoughts. I am looking forward to our 30 year...opps, I was dreaming...I mean 50th.....Ronnie |

| Comments: | Okay, McCauley.
I'm Googling "ascribed," "pedagogy" and "bifurcated" before weighing in with my 50th Reunion thoughts. Are those like REAL words or have you OD'd on XXX sites? Just askin'. So far, let's face it -- Bil Greene lone voice of sanity on current topic. You bifurcated pedagogue you. |

| Comments: | Looking forward to the 50. However, looking at the idea ascribed to the liberal eastern establishment pedagogy gives me pause. If you are considering a bifurcated "progressive" style reunion there are several concerns that immediately come to mind. First, there will be some (read as a few) people that have to travel and going to different towns could be a pain in the ass but inversely some (read as MAYBE many) who live in PB might be willing to attend the reunion only BECAUSE they wouldn't have to travel. I would hate to see them left out. Having said that, my vote would be for one location, either PB Hot Springs, Fayetteville or someplace in between. Hell, we could rent out the Delta Queen, go to Beal Street and the dog races and have a great time.
There, I have said my piece. mm |

| Comments: | Needed a lift and turned to PBHS Class of 62 and read some of the notes posted. Feel ashamed for not taking the time to say hi or anything else to those long time friends that are still around.
I look back and can sometimes see fond special memories and faces. Truly wish everyone the best of health and happiness. Was living in Hot Springs hoping to retire there. Latest plans are to keep old place in Pine Bluff, with only half as much as we had a few months ago. Door #2 going as I have witnessed before in other couples. First she looses the weight, secondly buys the convertable and thirdly gets rid of Door #2(me). Life goes on. I still have a 91 year old mother in Trinity Village and a 88 year old aunt there also. Planning on staying in Pine Bluff until they both "fly up". Being responsible for financial matters for my mother and co-executor of estate will keep me here a few more years. I am planning to retire in January and if dreams mean anything, plan on buying 21 to 24 ft camper and traveling to Dallas, (Son, daughter in law and only Granddaughter and a little travel to Bella Vista to visit older sister. It all depends on soon to be ex buying me out of the business. Proposal made, but have not seen any money? It doesn't take near as much to make me happy now as I wonce thought it did. Don't drink alcohol any longer, have lost 25 lbs and other than a joint (sholder) or two, I feel that I am in decient shape. Will try and keep in touch with those what may respond. I hope you all have had a great year. John "Johnny" Nevener |

| Comments: | I would like to ask your help in locating any of the people listed below. For
instance do you know what college they went to, or did you live next door to them, do you know a relative of theirs, or especially in the case of the women do you know their married names. I really would like to have all of our classmates accounted for by the time of our 50th reunion. I know this may sound strange to some of you since I've only been to one reunion myself. I attended the 30th along with my husband. However we always knew about when the reunions were because we were always good about leaving change of addresses. However with Ray being in the Navy we were usually a long way from Arkansas. Unfortunately some people do not leave a clear trail to follow so to speak. Some of them won't attend even if they know but at least they will know about it and that we cared enough to try and locate them. 2012 isn't that far away. I named it visitation. When I am called at the office my secretary kindly informs the caller that I am out on visitation.Does any one have phone numbers for Rusty Rye or Carl White? |

I don't really remember anything about 1961 except I'm pretty sure it happened since I graduated the next year. You must have been having LOTS more fun that year, Mary, than I was, to have recalled the oldies but goodies. |

Plus Michael McCauley's pretty much been futzing around with me since Lakeside. And Cloar too. (I'll never forget the Evelyn Bluerock episode even though, apparently, all worked out for the best. But seriously: THAT was fourth-grade heartbreak for me and I'm still in therapy. Moving forward . . . .) Could somebody just provide a link to the "Boomers" thing? | Comments: | Congratulations PBHS Class of ‘62 Scholarship!
Although not a part of “The Class of ‘62” (see summer of1962 reunion) I am proud to have been at PBHS the last two and a half years of my public schooling . I attended 11 schools in 5 states before returning to Pine Bluff at mid-term of the 10th grade. I finished high school at PBHS by choice. In the years since we graduated there has been a lot of despairing rhetoric and published words about Pine Bluff and Pine Bluff High School. PBHS Class Of ‘62 has shown that it truly has class. “It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.” We hope that in time this candle in the darkness will grow to be a torch and beacon. |

Another lovely morning here in the sewers of Paris. Not Hilton. We're talking the "City of Light" here. THM is convulsed . . . convulsed, I tell you . . . at the notion of attorneys going after my "assets." "ASSETS?" B-w-w-a-a-a-h-ha-ha-a-a-a-haaaaa-ha! Shirley, you jest. |

| Comments: | Gail, I'm attempting to concact an Inspector Clouseau who knows all the rats and sewers in Paris. If we can get him on the case, we should be able to flush out THM in snappy quick time. Once we find him we then can determine what assets we can go after. If we are able to act quickley enough, we should be able to convert all THM's assets to cash which would make a sizeable dent in the scholarship fund drive and pull the plug on Glasscock whining about money money money all the time. I've always liked killing two birds with the same shot.... |

| Comments: | Well, how the hell can anyone guess who that baby is??!! You could have at least shown us the nose; some hint or clue has to who the baby daddy or baby momma is. It's just another fat, pink cutie pie of a baby with a silly hat on. What a rip-off! THM has done it again, folks. Set us up for a no-win $5,000 cruise. It's probably a pirate ship, anyway. Of course, I see that I'm the first patsy to fall for it. Still gullible after all these years, ohhh, still gullible after all these years.
While I'm here, I'll wish all my wonderful classmates a Happy New Year. The not-so-wonderful ones, too. Everyone deserves a Happy New Year!!! Especially THM, despite all his skullduggery. Get it? Pirate ship...skullduggery? |

| Comments: | If you have not taken a trip down memory lane with the Post Card site, you just have to. Click on the Post Card of Pine Bluff. The only thing is be prepared to spend at least an hour. I printed off at least 40 of them to sit with my family this Thanksgiving and talked about growing up in Pine Bluff in the fifties and early sixties, as well as put them in a file to write my own history about each one for my family. I was brought to tears when I realized our old hotel had inside shots of the lobby, mezanine and ballroom which were my living rooms untill we sold it in 1960 and we lived there my first three years of my life. The piano where I took lessons and the front porch where we watched parades that would stop at the court house and then everyone would come to the Jefferson for something from the coffee shop ice cream counter. Good ole PBHS is also shown from several different years. My Mother and her siblings and my brother and I all attended the same buildings. The Library, the Sanger Theatre, The Pines Hotel where we had dances, and all the railroad stuff, which my grandfater on my Mother's side was involved. Wow, what a wonderful pictorial venture back to our ole home town. It made my Thanksgiving. Thanks to Mr. Curry for all his time in collecting all these postcards. I am seriously thinking of putting up a web site now of the 60+ old Hot Springs postcards I have collected because it touched my heart to see all these places and to see them years before I knew them as well as those that were of my childhood. Go look at Pine Bluff long ago as well as through the years we remember in the class of 62. Happy Holidays to you all and revisit your home town with old postcards. |
