We just hope you don’t get tired of hearing it over and over again. The two night show at the Rideau Carleton Raceway was in a word...breathtaking. It started slow as it always does until the very first words of your very first song. The rest is history. Friday night was incredible and Saturday night was even better than that. It was easy to see that the crowd enjoyed you very much and you are so good with the fans even though some of them can be a little pushy. You have a "gift" from God to be able to bring Elvis into yourself and bring such joy to so many people. When you sang Dixie Land [which is one of my favorites], I stood close to the stage not wanting to miss any of it; you did it so well, it was just as if Elvis himself was singing. | Comments: | Hi Shawn, We just wanted to thank you and Krissy from the bottom of our hearts for inviting us to join you on your vacation to Memphis and Tupelo. We cannot tell you how much we enjoyed the trip. We were aware that you knew a lot about Elvis’ life, but we didn’t realize just how much until this trip. The drive down was the most fun I think we’ve all had in a long time…..and you drove all the way too. Even though it took us a little over 24 hours to get there, you never seemed to tire of listening to us laugh and joke around…and I’m sure with six of us in the van, it may have gotten a little loud at times. You, Krissy and I had been to Graceland before, but to see the reaction from Linda, Teri and Ken when we arrived in Memphis was priceless and very emotional. Once we arrived and checked in at the Heartbreak Hotel and got to our rooms, we just couldn’t wait to start our tour. We picked up our VIP passes (which allowed us to tour Graceland, Elvis’ car museum, airplanes, Sincerely Yours and Elvis After Dark as many times that day as we wanted to). During the four days that we were in Memphis you took us to places that we’d always heard about but never thought we would ever see. Places like the homes that Elvis bought for Vernon & Dee and for some of the guys in the Memphis Mafia., where Pricilla went to school, where Elvis used to eat, and you even took us to the cemetery and showed us where Jesse’s grave was . Shawn, you are absolutely amazing. You even showed us the home of Jerry Lee Lewis. There was so much more, but there’s no way I can put it all here. Then you took us to Tupelo. How amazing that was. We were there for three days and during that time you took us to the house that Elvis was born in, where he went to school, where he went to church, where he and his friends hung out after school and even took us to the library where he got his first library card. Again you took us to so many places it’s impossible to name them all here. Enough to say it’s a trip we will never ever forget. To top it all off, before we left Tupelo, you introduced us to Sonny West, one of Elvis’ body guards. He was such a gentleman and never tired of sitting with us and telling us about his time with Elvis. What an interesting person he is. We could have stayed and listened to him for days. When Brother Bob asked the question “How many of you have never seen Shawn perform?” it still amazes me to see so many hands raised, but on the other hand I can’t wait to see the look on their faces when you start to sing. That first set was absolutely amazing and blew us all away. Those who had not seen you before, I’m sure were definitely not prepared to see you in that gorgeous powder blue suit in the second set. When I looked around to check out some of the expressions I was not at all surprised at what I saw. Some of them were in awe and others in total disbelief that we have such an unbelievably talented “Elvis Tribute Artist” in our very own city. Thanks, Shawn for just being you and for sharing your wonderful talent with so many of us. And thank you for the honorable mention during your performance. We are so glad to be a part of your fan club and to help promote you in any way we can. Heaven knows that no one deserves the recognition more than you do. Thank you Brother Bob. You always do such a fabulous job when you MC one of Shawn’s performances. And Shawn, we’d like to wish you every success and the very best of luck in the “Elvis Tribute Artist” competition in Tupelo at the end of May. | Comments: | Hey Shawn, As usual you were absolutely amazing at the Kanata Legion on Saturday, April 21st. We all had such a wonderful time. We’re just sorry that Krissy was not able to make it because we really miss her when she isn’t at one of your shows. The dinner was fabulous and the company at our table was great. I wish you could have been there when all three Shawnteers won an Elvis BBQ apron in one of the draws. Talk about having luck on our side that night. Once the dinner was over, it was time for the main event……YOU. Shawn what a performance you put on. That powder blue suit looks so fabulous on you. Amazingly enough there were some ladies who had not heard you sing before. We know how much of a treat they were about to experience. And Shawn, as always you did not disappoint them. Your entrance was awesome and we always get such a surge of pride when we see the looks of amazement on the faces of those who are new to your magic. You bring such happiness to so many people. Thank you just doesn’t seem to be enough. I guess we’ll just have to wait until someone comes up with a better word. It was nice to see Bill and Ramona again too. We had to make sure we got the best seat in the house. And we did. It was so wonderful to see you perform again after what seemed like forever. Your performance was absolutely amazing. Even though you were on stage for such a short time, it was well worth the wait. Brother Bob kept us well entertained until it was time for you to come on stage. Then he came and sat at our table....BONUS....and he stayed late too. We are so proud when you and Krissy sit with us and we always enjoy the time we spend together together either before or after your show. It was so good to see Steve again too. It's been a while. | Comments: | Hi Shawn, What an absolutely amazing show at the Rideau Carleton Raceway last weekend. Thank you so much. Friday night was out of this world. Watching people come around the corner, wondering who that guy was who was singing his heart out and then to see their faces light up with such big smiles when they saw you, just made our hearts soar. Shawn, it was great to see you in LEATHER again. You looked fantastic. I'm just sorry that we can't take pictures in the casino, cause there were some pretty awesome moves going on during your performance that would have been nice to have in print. We thought it couldn't get much better, but then along came Saturday and you proved us wrong. Shawn, please tell me where you get all the energy. That show was the most powerful one yet. Don't get me wrong, you always give the audience more than what they expected, but WOW, what a show. We truly enjoyed the "Request Set". That was a lot of fun. We were having such a wonderful time, we didn't want it to end.....but then again, we never want your shows to end. We're always so glad when Krissy comes to the shows with you and we really miss her when she can't be there. Thanks to Dave for all the wonderful music and to Steve for bringing all the CD's and of course especially to you for bringing everything together, cause without you there'd be no point, now would there? It was so nice to see Krissy and Steve again too. Then came Saturday....oh my goodness. We've been looking forward to theis Valentine's Day dance at the Knights of Columbus in Vanier since last February. What an awesome night. Shawn, we can never express enough how much we appreciate your amazing talent. You outdid yourself again. The first set was out of this world and then when you came out in that beautiful blue suit and the cape...well, we all lost it again. Thank you so much for an amazing performance. The AM/FM Band were fantastic. We had'nt seen them in a while and it's always great to listen to them as well as watch them play. Gerry can do some amazing thing with that guitar of his. Thanks guys. Brother Bob as always, did what he does best. We just love to listen to him introduce you. We all had such a good time. We know you need and definitely deserve a break, but we really, really missed you over the holidays.
